INEC says it needs about a trillion naira to conduct the 2027 elections. In the spirit of national cost-cutting, I humbly propose a solution: let’s simply scrap the presidential election and proceed with the others, governors, federal and state legislators, and all the remaining elective offices.

Think of the savings!

After all, why spend billions organizing a presidential contest when, apparently, the suspense level is already flat. Removing that single line item could rescue the treasury from cardiac arrest and spare everyone the stress of campaign jingles, convoy traffic, and manifesto gymnastics.

It can be clear to us what will transpire in 2027. The election in the FCT is a window on for us to know the outcome of 2027 will be. But the masses coming together. We will change the dynamics of APC game plan

Assuming a turnout of 25 million voters, the net cost per voter comes to about ₦40,000 (~$30) — extremely high compared with other countries, where it is often under $10 and sometimes less than $3. INEC owes the public an explanation for this level of expenditure.
