Judge Withdraws From El-Rufai’s Case, Proceeds On Leave by Putindbutt(op): 3:18pm On Feb 27

Justice Hussaini Belgore of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has stepped down from hearing the fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, citing plans to proceed on leave.

Following his withdrawal, the case file has been returned to the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court for reassignment to another judge.

The suit, filed at the FCT High Court, centres on alleged violations of El-Rufai’s fundamental rights. He raised concerns over actions taken by agencies including the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

In the suit, El-Rufai also referenced the invasion of his Abuja residence and mentioned the involvement of other agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) in ongoing legal matters concerning him.

Recall Tribune online reported that Malam Nasir El-Rufai asked a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to quash the charges preferred against him by the Department of State Services (DSS) for being incompetent, disclosing no offence known to law, and constituting a gross abuse of court process.

Headless mobs are illiterates, because anyone with a functioning brain can see that El-Rufai practically waltzed himself into the waiting arms of the security agencies.

In a time when security challenges are already stubbornly complicated, with ambushes costing lives of personnel, a man opposing the govt went to a national television to announce that he has been tapping the phone conversations of the NSA.

And then, as if on cue, the same headless mobs begin asking, “Did he commit any offence? What exactly can the government do to him?”

Well… alright then.

For claiming to tap NSA phone conversations in a security crisis landen country he may remain in custody till end of next year

That is if the federal government didn't even accuse him of terrorism

Even though I want to believe he's more of a mole in opposition and all this is just make believe drama with the presidency

As innn, I used to think this guy El Rufai was a bright soul until this saga. It still feels like he was jinxed or something because why would a man of his caliber not know the implications of that weighty admittance in a period when the country is facing this much security issues?.
Even if the federal government frees him, the Armed forces who have lost hundreds of men to ambushes caused by information leaks can easily sue him as being responsible for the leaks.
Every sane person knows that you can't even bug the mobile phone of an ordinary person but Mr Rufai just had to raise the bar; bro tapped the phone of the country's highest security officer and still had the mind to broadcast the atrocious act himself without being coerced. Bro just walked directly into the hands of his enemies. Him sleepless night go long pass monkey own. One needs to be prayerful, this doesn't seem ordinary.
