I Think I Have Just Been Scammed by AlabiKILLER2023(op): 4:22pm On Feb 27

This afternoon this guy

Just entered my shop

Looking for 4 pieces of 1litte of mobil oil

I told him 5400k per one
He accepted

Said I should make it 5 pieces

He said I should give him 1k cash so he can enter bike that he didn't have any cash with him
I accepted

He made a transfer into my account

Showed me the transfer details

He said he didn't have time
That he's repairing his car at mechanic
That he's a married man
That there's no possibility of him scamming me

I believed him
He dropped a number

Over 1 hour now I haven't seen alert

Called the number severally
They're telling me that the number is not available at the moment

I feel down right now

You’re still thinking 🤔 You’ve clearly been scammed. Even POS attendants don’t fall for that format again. The guy just used an age old format for you and you fell. Update us if you finally get it. He’s probably trading it for 3k each right now.

You have been scammed, my brother. Some years ago I was returning home from my night flexing and met a man stranded with his car( rickety old taxi wagon). He pleaded with me to please help him with some cash to buy fuel as he had run out of gas and phone is dead to even call his wife or friends.
Out of my free will and good heart( people always take advantage of things that is filled with love), I helped him with the cash, he was so grateful, thanked me very well and promised to pay me back via transfer as soon as he returns home. He asked for my number, which I wrote down for him and he promised again to call me when he gets home.
This is an aged man, should be in his late 40's or early 50's while I was just a struggling young nigga. I took pity on him because I understand what it means to be stranded in the dead wee hours of the night.
As usual, he never bothered to reach out to me and pay back the money just as he promised to do so when i helped him during his difficult time. This is a person I told that what I gave him is my last card but I guess the Nigeria in him has eaten so deep down
See Nigeria is and will never be a place for kind hearted people because the citizens will always use it against you, play you like a fool and turn you into a monster.

Don't always be quick to blame people though...

Something similar happened to me on my way driving to lagos some years ago from Jos.

I was stranded somewhere in kogi or benue state. I can't even remember clearly the events specifically how it played out. But someone helped me fixed the situation. I collected his contact with the intention of calling him back to thank him and reimburse him what he spent.

Along the line don't know if I didn't save the number. I can't explain it. But I searched for that number for days on my phone and sadly I couldn't find it.

I felt really bad because the guy would think he helped me and I forgot him. Before he assisted me that day I remember being reluctant saying things like he has helped people in the past and they don't remember him when they eventually get sorted and leave.

I promised him I wasn't like that before he helped me. I felt bad because he would get the impression that I am just like others and might hinder other stranded people from getting help from him.

I hate to not keep my words besides!

My gee, I can't count the number of people that I've helped in one way or another even though I'm still struggling to stand on my own but all I got back in return is backstabbing and fool's treatment. I'm one of the few that have faith in humanity, I help people without thinking twice,i can't even count the number of times that I've been of great help to total strangers but lately I see myself losing my little faith in humanity.
Sometimes i feel God is withholding my blessings until I must have mastered the act of wickedness and turning the other way when i see people in need of help

Well keep helping people as long as it doesn't take anything away from you...

You may not realize it yet but these things have a way of returning to you even when you feel it's wasted effort.

I'm the kind of person that go out of my way to help people in need too even at my own detriment. But I realized something in my life earlier on... I never lack assistance/help anywhere I go no matter how stranded or hopeless the situation.

It gives me the kind of confidence to enter anywhere at anytime and doors open on my behalf even without merit and without much efforts.

Let me not talk too much... just do whatever you can. Life is a circle not a straight line!

You just dashed someone 27k out of your business capital and I’m wondering what kind of profit you were even expecting. Or did you suddenly decide to turn your business into a Charity Organization?

The first red flag was right there—the guy had to pay the bike man with your own money because he didn't even have common change for transport, yet that didn't give you a clue. If he had at least bought one item with cash, it would have been more understandable, but you let a total stranger walk away with five of your goods without even confirming the alert.

Well, what’s done is done. By now, I’m sure he has tossed that SIM card and you probably didn't even check the name on the receipt properly. I’m sorry for your loss, but this is a very expensive lesson in 'Business 101'—pity and profit don't mix!

My first time of selling that sealed oil
I was desperate happy that someone came in to buy

I was going to do something that will make him not to buy
I trusted him out of desperation
But he was a fraud

The pain I'm going through right now is too much

You can never get a better clue to tell you that a scam artist is in your shop than, "I'm in a hurry or I need it urgently" from a person that later ends up showing you a transaction evidence on his own phone which hasn't reflected in your account shocked

You are not a businessman. If you transfer money to my account, and it doesn't reflect in my account, then I assume you haven't paid.

Not only did he go with your goods without paying, he also collected your 1K pretending to be in a haste. Take this as a lesson so you don't get scammed in future.

Sorry about your loss....

The most important thing about business is if you don't receive payment and confirm it in your mobile app don't release any product to customer and be careful of customers that use the urgent or impromptu style to let you release any items.

I guess you've learnt a lesson.
