Isreali jets dont enter Iranian airspace, they destroy targets for outside Iranian airspace. They can only do that if they are all air defenses have being obliterated which they cant be sure of .

It is missiles they are using to attack Iran according to report. Their jets rely on radar to function and Iran will likely jam it and bring the jets down. The optics of a US jet down from Day 1 is horrible optics for Trump.

In War, it is about strategy and there are different ways to fight it.
Part of the fight against Russia is to remove Ayatollah. It is not about Islam. The US may not want a direct confrontation with Russia, at least not now. Why fight them when Russia is weakening itself by fighting in Ukraine. The US never fought the Soviet union directly, but the SU couldn't survive after all the indirect cold war. Iran is too small to be fought indirectly
