What arrogance. This is terribly wrong. I dont know why people who look like Oshiomole's in height are always like this. Give them little power they turn emperors

It's the duty of the journalist to research/investigate the effect of the infrastural development on the citizens, not the other way round. You expect the governor to tell how the road, hospitals, schools, electricity, etc, he has provided has helped the people, abi?
But if Rufai Oseni ask such ridiculous questions, you all will be hailing him as the best

Tangible evidence everywhere, full ground,

e choke!

Even yarimo would marvel at the level of transformation happening in Abia and wish Alex Otti could be his state governor, even if just for a few months.

Ndi Abia are really, really lucky.
That one wouldn't even know good governance even if he was hit with it!

Imagine how ordinary governor got annoyed over a sincere question being thrown at him, yet that mannerless Oseni will be saying rubbish about Tinubu and baba never vexed for once.

Tinubu is the greatest politician in Nigeria!
Re: “When You Come To My Media Chat, Prepare Very Well” — Otti Tells Journalist by Prince16: 12:42pm On Feb 28
Ppl see what they intend seeing.
In the last FCT election with over 90% success rate, ppl chose to focus on the few failures - the outliers - to rubbish the whole process.

'Nigerians' were calling trump to invade (note: not collaborate o), to INVADE nigeria. When they saw that their aim wasn't coming to pass, they began to chastise fg for opening it's doors to 'foreign intervention'.

If otti does 99% of avian roads, the 'journalists' won't mind tagging him a failure for that 1% he didn't do.

Everybody with their agenda!

Funny enough, he has done well.

The question was valid but the response: condemnable.

Re: “When You Come To My Media Chat, Prepare Very Well” — Otti Tells Journalist by Blunt99: 1:01pm On Feb 28
While the governor choice of words and tone was off.

I actually see reason with him.

There is no way the governor can know the impact of his policies and programs on the living of the people...

That job is for journalist...

Which makes the question poorly phrased.

What the journalist should have done is to aggregate situation report from the people and phrase them into the question - that is, after acknowledging the current progress of things in the state (if any) to balance sentiment.

The journalist question was poorly phrased
The governor reaction lacks courtesy.

Lolz it's funny how APC's opposition here are defending Otti. Imagine if APC governors or Tinubu said the same thing. That the journalist is stupid and that how his performance is impacting the people is not his business.
Hypocrisy
Re: “When You Come To My Media Chat, Prepare Very Well” — Otti Tells Journalist by Jeezuzpick(m):
SmartPolician:
Governor Otti, I am afraid you are not right. Governance is policy-driven and you must outline your goals and objectives before embarking on projects. Once you accomplish certain projects, you weigh the before and after impact of its completion using verifiable data.

Abia State MDAs should include providing data to the list of functions they perform. The government cannot get statistical data from the media - the reverse should be the case. The journalist raised that point mostly because such development data isn't readily available and Governor Otti has a duty to provide it.
He asked the Governor to "provide measurable and transparent data". This kind of question, with all due respect, is a crutch to aid non-performing governors in rattling vacuous "data" that don't transmit any tangible reality.

A real performer like Dr. Otti doesn't need this. It's like offering Osimhen a wheelchair. Otti's "data" is physical, tangible, visible real.

He doesn't need to explain in a lot of big English words, what he's doing, that's what he's telling the journalist.

You lots are irritating with this your commentary—even if PBAT I’ll still maintain same stance—it’s the job of the executive to explain the impact of their policies, projects and programs to the media. Cmon

Imagine sanwo Olu,soludo or any other APC governor speak to journalist like that, headless mobs won’t rest
Governor Otti is spot on! The silly journalist could have at least come with his own studies that point to failures or stagnation in whatever areas he's concerned about! Nobody gives a fck about your Tinubu puppet Olu and your cho cho cho kiss-ass efulefu Soludo!

Your emilokan minion status and frustration is discernible! Why don't you leave governance affairs in Abia to ndi-Abia and rather concentrate on getting good governance and accountability from your godfather Tinubu and the governor of whatever south-west state you come from!?

This is actually the reason there is no accountability.

It is like an accused being a judge and jury in his own case.

As Otti said "what do you want me to say"

Because normally, you don't expect him to say that there is no impact - he will be shooting himself.

and this is why the representative get away with lots of misdeeds, because we allow them tell their own story - which is always tell in their interests.

While the people with the actual experience, closer to the journalist that should know better, languish in hardship.

So, even if that is how we have been doing it, we have been doing it wrongly.

Otti approach is the way to go, but he needs to learn courtesy.

All these politicians are the same, both the working ones and the ones not working, unnecessary ego and anger. The man asked an innocent question. If someone offended him, he should take it out on the person.

Fairytale-like write-up...
The question put to him, requires him to roll out statistics that could be probed. That's exactly what is needed to fight corruption..for instance, tell us the budget and exact amount you used to execute a project , and see if you won't languish in prison as a politician

Do you realize that the journalist asked a generic question, without pointing to anything in particular.

Including the fact it was about end users impact, which is closer to the journalist than the governor.

You are the one asking a better question.

I beg to differ.
The mannerism in answering the question is quite 'condemnablee. For Christ sake, he is the governor, he should be more tolerable.
I am afraid, his choice of words is irritating and betrays his good intention.

Leaders should be more tolerant.

He just blew an opportunity to school and educate his detractors and possibly opposition what governance means and how he has measured up to the bidding and expectations of his people in a more matured manner.

He just bruised the ego and confidence of that journalist and perhaps sending the wrong signal to others.

My opinion sha.

Gov Otti really ‘fall my hand’. my first time actually listening to him interacting. He messed up big time.

1. As a Leader you ought to be temperate.. no matter what is thrown at you, be it questions or accusations, calm and calculated response is required.. Otti response was VERY RUDE of a supposed leader.

2. The journalist question was on course - as Gov IT IS YOUR DUTY TO KNOW THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF YOUR SERVICE DELIVERY to your citizens.. not from Journalist.

3. In the end Gov Otti actually started answering the same Journalist questions that he initially condemned.. that’s appalling!

4. I’m shocked at a lot of folks here criticising the journalist. He asked a simple question.

Gov Otti you can do better. ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING!

Imagine for a moment an APC governor did this.

I've said it many times and would say it again; the LP and their band of toxic supporters are the most anti democratic elements we'll ever see in Nigeria. They pretend to uphold and demand civil engagement and human rights, but the opposite is their true nature.

They detest only the things they don't have the powers to do. They support repression, bullying, and dictatorship when it suits their purpose and condemns same when it doesn't. God forbid that we have the likes of Otti running this country. Dude's achievements are likely only as tangible as Obidients say they are, which is why he felt utterly irritated by that innocuous question.
