the west in general and america in particular have repeatedly fked up in the middle east and left the rest of us to cope with teh fallout

for all intents and purposes, america midwifed al qaeda and its multiple iterations of islamic terrorism

there is always a plan for winning a war, but once the war is done there is no marshall plan for rebuilding a true democracy

Iran are just mouthing that off to gain economic concessions, they're not interested in any large-scale confrontations. They still talk with the aforementioned countries behind closed doors. It is just like Reno calling President Tinubu a drug-lord or Bwala shouting no to Muslim-Muslim ticket only for both of them to get appointments later

Which kind equivalence be this? Is Reno and Bwala funding terror cells that constantly attack Tinubu and his interests?

To be honest, even if Khamenei is dead, I don't think his death is enough to topple the regime..

The IRGC is an institution and it is embedded deeply into the fabric of governance and civil service in Iran...
I'm not even sure killing a thousand officials would topple them...

It has to be said though that if the SL is dead, then internal conflicts and disagreements that have been festering might just rip open and end the regime via internal turmoil and infighting...

People don't learn from history even when the said history is recent. The pretext of Iraq invasion of 2003 was to prevent Saddam from using his nonexistent WMDs, we all know that was a lie and that singular move unleashed Daesh. In Vietnam we were told that they went to fight Communism, we know how that one ended. In Afghanistan they went looking for Osama but na puppies and natural resources they looted and caused massive deaths till they disgracefully left. In Libya, th3y armed criminals to topple Gaddafi only for the country to be ruined and the subregion suffered the consequences.
I oppose the Iranian regime but a violent change will lead to chaos and instability in the region. Most countries in the region have shia population in large numbers and they mostly defer to Iran, so any attack on Iran will lead to uprising.
Also, the Strait of Hormuz is where 30% of world oil is transported a war in Iran will lead to blockade of the strait leading to increase in fuel price. As a Nigerian this is both good and bad news, the good news is that price of crude oil will increase if the crisis is prolonged meaning more revenue to government, and the bad news is that fuel marketers will increase their pump price to reflect the cost of crude oil.
