Tinubu Announces That Naira Cards Are Now Accepted For Transactions Worldwide by dododawa1(op): 10:23pm On Feb 28
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that Nigerians can now use the Naira Card for payments and transactions across the world, saying the achievement reflects growing confidence in the nation’s currency.

The announcement was made on Saturday in Abuja during the 9th Annual Ramadan Lecture and Prayer for the Nation organised by the Ashraaf Islamic Foundation.

The event focused on the theme, Faith and Justice: The Islamic Judicial Perspective on Terrorism and Banditry in Nigeria.

Speaking through the Minister of State for Health, Dr Iziaq Adekunle Salako, the president said recent economic reforms had begun to yield positive results. He noted that interest rates had been adjusted downward by the Central Bank of Nigeria, while inflation figures were showing signs of improvement.

According to him, the country has moved away from heavy dependence on foreign currencies for basic international transactions.

He said Nigerians can now travel abroad and rely on their Naira Card without needing to carry dollars, euros or pounds.

Tinubu attributed the change to improved stability in the naira and better management of external reserves.

He also claimed that food inflation has been on a steady decline over the past year and that headline inflation has followed a similar trend in recent months.

The president admitted that the economic reforms introduced by his administration came with hardship at the initial stage. However, he said those difficult decisions were necessary to correct long-standing problems in the economy.

He stressed that current indicators show Nigeria is gradually recovering, pointing to currency stability and improved confidence in the financial system as evidence.

On security, Tinubu reassured Nigerians that his government remains committed to defeating terrorism and banditry.

He praised religious and traditional leaders for their prayers and support, saying national unity is key to restoring peace and stability.

He maintained that those threatening Nigeria’s progress would be confronted and defeated through collective effort and strong governance.

Something we enjoyed during the time of Jonathan. A regime you all chose to frustrate out of power purposely so APC can grab power. Now you can't even achieve half of what Jonathan did

Yes, what he did was uncalled for, he should have answered intelligently rather than resorting to insult. I think his people love him especially the abians because he has been the only governor for than two decades addressing the state infrastructure needs.

This is quite funny because it was even the Central Bank that did it back then, not the President. Right now, APC repackages what they have destroyed and present it to you as an achievement. What a joke 🤡

Maybe for those who spend below 10 USD grin it is a shame that the Naira card can't be used for tangible intl transaction. Imagine the SA Rand (ZAR) been accepted globally ahead of the Naira, I will always say this the PDP led government is the best in the history of our democracy gone are those days we used to pay for VPS and satellite network directly with our Naira card or even just fill a transfer form in Zenith without tuning to Sabo to get the needful done.

I dare you to buy items worth than 10 USD on Amazon and try to pay with your Nira card grin grin . Meanwhile, when the same Mr Agulu was in government with GEJ and Okonjon Iwela as the minister of finance we Nigerians can buy flights tickets, shop internationally with just our Naira card or mostly pay in Naira what PBAT can't achieve in 15yrs time
Modified: I just checked my VPS bills of 2012-2013 and I weep for the current Nigeria that has been spoiled beyond redemption bcs I now pay more than 300% for not even up to the space I had then just within 10yrs . Nigerians made the biggest mistake of their life by voting out GEJ who has qualified teams like Okonjo , Deziani, Peter Obi etc . As for me this is a typical mediocre achievement let PBAT and APC return the Nira to the global stage they met it if they can't take it further

No mind APC and their bewitched followers.
Before they removed GEJ, you could make financial transactions with your cards all over the world. You could insert your cards into ATM machines and get the equivalent of the currency of that particular country. Buhari stopped it in 2014, one month after he became the President claiming scarce forex. Infact that policy cost me in 2015. Now they are jumping up and down, not knowing that it was the same APC that troubled the nation in 2015.

The same goes to rice. Notice that rice and food product prices reduced. The same APC under Buhari blocked it, inflicting hardship on Nigerians with their wicked policies. Now they allowed importation and food prices dropped. Nigerians still struggle as income is not enough to put food on the table still.

Let BAT restore forex to 200 in the minimum and we can say that he has worked to restore the damage caused by the party that he brought to Nigerians.

By the way, before 1986, Nigerians travelled to Amy country of the world with naira cash and exchanged at any bureau de change of their choice. IBB destroyed that with his horrible economic policies that brought the country to its knees finally.

The man got the answer that he deserved. He failed to think properly before asking such an unreasonable question. How did he expect the Governor to provide him and Abians with such data spontaneously?

Again, did he need the Governor to tell him, looking at the infrastructures on ground that citizens had been positively impacted economically? When roads are built to link urban and rural communities, what does he expect with the economy?

The man should go ask that question in any market and get a resounding slap as his reward.

Seriously, and why would I justify my transaction with you? So as to make the government look good or what? wetin concern me with any politician.

I just said I made such transaction in case, someone out there didn't know and the info could be of benefit to the person. How does it concern me what you chose to believe or not.

That’s actually true. Then people would withdraw foreign currencies with their Naira cards abroad. Just that the exchange rate may not be the best, but it was available
Re: Tinubu Announces That Naira Cards Are Now Accepted For Transactions Worldwide by SmartPolician: 6:06am On Mar 01
This is a lie because Naira cards don't work on many foreign websites. Days ago, I attempted using my naira card to pay for Hostinger hosting services and the transaction was declined because Nigerian banks don't support it.
