WHAT could have triggered last Tuesday’s attack on the Edo State secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) shortly after the party received the 2024 Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in the state, Mr Olumide Akpata, and then the residence of the National Leader of the ADC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, while he was hosting Akpata and others, including the 2023 presidential candidate of the LP, Mr Peter Obi, remains a mystery.https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/03/edo-gun-attacks-on-peter-obi-oyegun-no-police-arrests-four-days-after/

Of-course the perpetrators cannot arrest themselves, I kept on asking the question: if someone is attacked, how can you start blaming the victim alone and then completely leave the attackers and sounding like the attackers were justified for attacking the victim ? |

Probably Obi and his fellow content creators should be arrested and questioned or what? Submit your grievance and allow time for investigation. Or do you have names or any concrete lead to assist the authorities with investigation? |

The demented Peter Obi should enter Nollywood full time if politics is not working out for him. |

Family affair, no need to involve police. Obi should be more concerned with his lack of political acumen. He went to Edo State and held a meeting with only one faction of the party. Sidelining the other faction, which no doubt has the grassroots support, having being in the party for years. In the end, the Faction he choose to side with adopted Amaechi, instead of him Obi. Amaechi that didn't even visit Edo State. If he had carried everyone along, the story might be different. The other faction having seen how he fought for them might have been more inclined to side with him. But the dude took the easy route. The writing on the wall is clear, the Political class don't see much value in him. His mod on social media are constantly adding salt to injury, by insulting anyone that says anything contrary to what they think. Anyone, even Obi is not speared. |

This is a family affair. The ADC sympathiser and haters should call the other faction within the party to order. I might just be banned for this comment ![]() |

Klington:Y'all are trying so hard to pretend that there's no faction within the party in Edo State and the incident that happened. Very soon una go start to cry how Tinubu dey sponsor obi to destabilise the party. Call yourselves to order now. |

It's so unfortunate, that thuggery has been legitimized and incorporated into our national, socio-political structure by these good for nothing, miscreants in power. Apc as a party, is a curse and an impediment to the sanity of this country. The earlier they are kicked out, by all means necessary, the good it is for us as a people and a nation. |

shox:When it comes to cultism, Edo state is peaceful compared to some places in the East. Cultism in Awka is not a child's play. A large population of over 18 years old men there belongs to a frat or the other and these ones are eager to prove themselves. |
| Re: Edo Gun Attacks On Peter Obi, Oyegun: No Police Arrests Four Days After by Carmencita99: 8:54am On Mar 01 |
garykoeman:Alright, let’s assume, for the sake of argument, that your claim is true. If it was staged, wouldn’t that present the ruling party, the APC government, with the perfect opportunity to expose the opposition? If this were truly staged, what better political victory than to immediately investigate, arrest the so-called perpetrators, make them confess publicly, and conclusively prove that it was a fabricated sympathy stunt? That would completely discredit the opposition in one sweep. Sporadic shooting in a building housing three former governors, barely a mile from the current Government House. Four days later, no arrests. No suspects paraded. No clear explanation. And the immediate conclusion from some quarters is: “It was staged.” By that logic, are we to assume that every terrorist attack, every abduction, every act of violence across the country were also staged? Should we say, that could be the reasons they are not traced and arrested? Are the victims acting? Are the bullets fictional? Are the grieving families performing for sympathy? It is easy to shout “content” or “staged” when you are politically aligned. It is harder to demand investigation, facts, and accountability. Go and set off even a single firework (knock-out) around that same area and see if you won’t be tracked down and arrested within 24 hours. It’s unfortunate. Keep defending the indefensible if you choose to. But understand this: when insecurity is normalized and accountability is mocked, it doesn’t remain selective forever. What is excused today has a way of reaching everyone tomorrow. Not everything is propaganda. And not every concern is or should be politics. |

Carmencita99:So if the Police haven't been able to trace and track the gunmen , should they begin to start arresting and parading anyone they suspect because they want to please you , ADC and their factions ? |
| Re: Edo Gun Attacks On Peter Obi, Oyegun: No Police Arrests Four Days After by ogaemma: 9:11am On Mar 01 |
APC have long been declared as a terrorist party by a Court in Canada. They are worst than Hezbollah and Hamas. Wait for any police arrest at your own waste of time |
| Re: Edo Gun Attacks On Peter Obi, Oyegun: No Police Arrests Four Days After by Carmencita99: 9:16am On Mar 01 |
GreatOchuks:Nobody is asking the police to start arresting random people to “please” anyone. That’s just a convenient exaggeration to dodge the real issue. What people are demanding is competence. When it comes to tracking critics, protesters, or social media commentators, the system suddenly becomes highly efficient. Phones are traced. Locations are identified. Arrests are made within hours. So let’s not pretend investigative capacity doesn’t exist. Now we’re talking about armed men firing shots in a high-profile area near government facilities, and days later there’s no arrest, no suspect, no detailed update, and the expectation is that citizens should simply stay quiet? If the police truly cannot trace gunmen who operated in such a sensitive location, then that’s not an argument in your favour, that’s an indictment of the security system itself. Stop reducing every demand for accountability to party politics. Not everything is about ADC, APC, or factions. Some of us are simply asking: Where is the urgency? Where is the visible progress? Where is the deterrence? Demanding competence is not asking for witch-hunts. It’s asking the state to function. And if that makes some people uncomfortable, maybe the discomfort isn’t with the question, but with the lack of answers. |

It is now easier to understand exactly Col Banjo was framed up with lies and murdered by the same people he was fighting for despite being found not guilty by the Court Martial. Some people don't see framing up and destroying an innocent man as an abomination as long as their egos are massaged Whereas in other cultures it a complete Taboo that would take many Generations to atone for Why should anyone be arrested for a crime that was never committed? |
