I posted this long time ago. I don’t know why they are stingy and decide to keep all the money they are making from ads to themselves

The banning is frustrating. Work on it.

I don't care about the site's appearance, but the low quality contents that get pushed to the front-page. Especially those ones created to promote some wacky social media content creators. I am not talking about paid ads, those ones are clearly sponsored promotions.

As you have compelled people to acknowledge something before they type anything on Islam section, make the same thing for post on Christianity too. You cant allow freedom for one religion and gag another religion.

Hello Nairalanders,

I'm Seun, the founder of Nairaland. Talk to me about what Nairaland is like for you. What's good and what's not so good right now.

I've been more focused on the backend and working on new features. It seems as if the moderation and other issues have fallen behind.

So, talk to me. What should we focus on in order to encourage you to start being more active on Nairaland?

PS: I have people dropping me messages presuming that Nairaland is over. What's that about? huh

YES, we agree, especially the ones who support Peter Obi.

We know them well, they NEVER got over the 2023 loss and they are crying in anticipation of 2027 grin grin grin grin

Your auto ban bot is selective, can imagine if apc supporters say something like STUPID or FOOL if i say same thing i will get my comment deleted and banned.

Your moderators are tribalist.

20 years on Nairaland, I can't go a day without visiting this forum.

We need real time news updates not when it has gone stale before it reaches nairaland.

Anyways, kudos to you seun making nairaland liberal and removing swearing an oat to comment on some topics.

Re: Nairalanders, Talk To Me About Nairaland by Kh36: 11:49pm On Mar 01
Nairaland is a very good platform. But they problem is it's too tribalistic. For a long time I don't comment or read comments again. And it has happened several times I will make a normal comment like dropping my opinion in comments section then when the news is pushed to the front page, they always delete my comments making me look stupid.
Re: Nairalanders, Talk To Me About Nairaland by SpyChild: 11:49pm On Mar 01
Is there a reason why nairaland isn’t active on instagram? Nairaland really changed my life and I’m wondering why it’s not dominating that space?

If anyone gets banned the bot should be able to tell the person that got banned the exact rule broken so that one will not make same mistake. Not just the you got banned cos of so so comment on so so post. One should know exactly the offence committed so as not to repeat the same thing.
Re: Nairalanders, Talk To Me About Nairaland by sheungeek(m): 11:50pm On Mar 01
Christianity should have a separate category.. and not Christianity etc.. there are other religions as well that may require their own category or subcategory such as the freethinkers or so.

Mods on the once thriving NL ban handles and erase comments that are anti-Islamic extremists as well as comments criticising PBAT

Thanks. There are technical challenges that we will need to overcome. What are some measures that we can take to ease this challenge for you?
But that was the technical challenge he just mentioned. Why are you asking again. This spam bot pisses people off and it is very annonying, it bans people for making harmless comment. Turn it off or get it re-programmed by a good developer or buy a good code online and install it.
Re: Nairalanders, Talk To Me About Nairaland by saintmm(m): 11:51pm On Mar 01
Nairaland used to be no 1 go to for information, update and even breaking news. Which used to generate robust conversation and enlightenment void of abuse tantrums and bile. But, recently, some of the content seems to just be occupying space, engaging in conversation is something else as opinion and literal boundaries are not respected. Labelling is something else.
There's a need for sanitization to encourage robust conversations, topics that are current, engaging, reduction of creation of multiple threads on the same topic, frequent upgrading when necessary, monetization etc.

Nairaland is a great project and we are proud of having it
Re: Nairalanders, Talk To Me About Nairaland by badoh(m): 11:51pm On Mar 01
One of your decisions is leaning and favouring a particular religion when it comes to making comments on their thread. For fairness and not to be seen as partial, that restriction you placed on muslim thread should also be applicable to christian thread. We cant say because christians are tolerant, then people from other religion can just make comment that are not right. Don't be seen as someone who lacks courage and feel threatened to make good decisions.
In addition, I may not be entirely right, but i have seen people complain a lot that you promote and allow oppositions or people with dissenting opinions to drag and abuse President Tinubu, however comments against key opposition parties and their members are hidden. I understand people have freedom of speech but decorum should be applied as well when making statement. Constructive criticism of government policies are welcome and should be promoted, however resorting to blackmail, abuse, and insults should be discouraged on this forum.
Re: Nairalanders, Talk To Me About Nairaland by proyecto: 11:51pm On Mar 01
Nairaland has great topics giving opportunities for very constructive discussions where everyone can learn. The problem is that such topics get derailed by terrible comments by not so intelligent people.
How can a topic be on the fifth page and only a handful of comments are on topic?
I'd wish I could mute some users and just see comments that are on topic.
