Yeah, they now know the importance and how strategic hypersonics are. That's why they're in a rush to build theirs. The problem with US weapons is the delays and the overblown development costs to develop weaponry. They'd eventually get hypersonics sooner than later, only that they'd already lagging in tech behind China and Russia, even India that have been playing in the game for a while.

The only time in recent memory I've seen US adapt their weapon style strategy and drew a commendation from me cos I was surprised with the change in line of thought is how they've now started making cheap low cost one-way attack drones like the Shaheds. Russia's exploits in Ukraine and Zelensky's perpetual tears have made them realise how effective these cheap drones are.
No be all the time you need state-of-the-art tech to win a war. Just plain good old "efficiency".

That Russia-Ukraine war is a huge testbed for testing current and evolving military tactics in real time. And everyone is learning from it. The Russians and China are the biggest beneficiaries, even Ukraine, to these assymetric and cheap style of fighting a far bigger adversary.

Use of hypersonic missiles against Iran by US most likely wouldn't even be economical if at all the US eventually makes it. When one hypersonic missile go cost $10mn per rocket, you wan use that one dey counter person wey get thousands of drones and missiles to burn. Not to talk of the limited numbers of the hypersonics in the first place.

At the end, na still those F-35 and F-15s go do the job, cos those $1-4mn missiles still dey more effective than the hypersonics on a threat like Iran.

Yep, I know an Iran with a point to make will deliver some blows to the US. The main problem is Iran not having an Airforce largely puts them in a disadvantaged position. Poor air defence cover too makes them sitting ducks. They can only afford defensive or counter attacks with ballistic missiles. Not all out preemptive strikes or strategic offense that the Israelis can carry out.

Iran's smart play is how distributed their missiles strike force is. So even if some storage facilities gets hit, there's more in various locations to accommodate a shortfall. This is where quantity has a quality of its own.

Well, Russia is partly to blame sha for delaying the SU-35 deliveries to Iran. They need it more in Ukraine.

At this point, even Nigeria Airforce is stronger on paper compared to Iran's (that's if all M346FA fighter trainers were all delivered). So, you get the idea how weak their airspace management is.

Another missile is also being worked on Angry tortoise which is less cost effective and uses liquid fuel but the main focus is on the Dark Eagle. If that one fail the US will keep trying. The U.S. has always served the U.S.' interests. Nothing more. Libya was an opportunity to steal oil. Afghanistan for resource, including opium. In Syria, the U.S. has deals with ISIS to get cheap and free oil amidst the chaos. It took a blunt Trump to say, "Hey! We are invading Venezuela to take their oil with no care for the chaos we leave behind. They'll sort themselves out." Same thing the U.S. did during the Arab Spring.

But make an incursion directly threatening the U.S. and see what happens.

How many Heads of States has the U.S. deposed directly with no repercussion? Let China or Russia or North Korea attempt them.

If the U.S. were an autocracy like the countries I mentioned above, with its might, we'll all live under its thumb. Thank God it's a democracy.
