The Abia State Government has officially introduced the Abia Connect Card, a smart and cashless payment system for all Abia Green Shuttle Services across the state.

This initiative, driven by the reform agenda of His Excellency, the People’s Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex C. Otti , OFR, is designed to modernise public transportation, eliminate cash handling, and ensure a seamless commuter experience.

The Abia Connect Card is easy to use . Commuters are to simply tap their card on the payment device when boarding and wait for the β€œWelcome” confirmation sound to validate successful payment.

The first card is currently free. However, a ₦50 charge applies to every top-up. The card does not expire, and funds do not expire. Each card is valid for one person per trip and can be used across all approved Green Shuttle routes in the state.

Residents can obtain the card at any designated Central Bus Terminal, including Ariaria Junction, MCC, Osisioma Flyover, Tonimas, PH Road Aba First Bus Stop (Cemetery), Ala Oji Flyover, Ebem Park, Abiriba Junction, Akara Junction and Uzuakoli. Note that an ABSSIN is required for registration.

The Abia Connect Card represents another bold step towards a structured, technology-driven and transparent transport system in Abia State.

A new Abia is here . Abia is moving forward.Abia is going digital and staying connected.

For more details, see the pictures attached.

He was never any gentle during his first tenure. Man has always been a sadist right from the time he was the CBN governor. He won his re election because of APGA factor in Anambra state.

This same initiative was introduced in Edo State in 2009 or so by Adms Oshiomhole and it has remain so til date ---- Comrade Buses. Note -- it is free ride for students on uniform and the elderly citizens

Abia State is just getting to the phase Edo had passed, 17 years ago, and some deluded persons that have not seen development before will come here and be shouting, *Abia and Ottii* as the best thing happening in Nigeria governance space at the moment.

CNG buses are not electrical buses, so you can't call them Green Energy, rather they are Clean Energy compared to Petrol or Diesel.

So it is still mechanical.

Well done Abia state government.

God bless Alex Otti of Abia state and the good people of Abia state that fought INEC to ensure their preferred candidate they voted for during 2023 general election was declared winner.

For those that may not know, Abia state slogan is:

"God's own state"

Stop being Pessimistic
Most states left this stage, years ago. Yes, Abia is currently experiencing something close to governance for the first time in its history but it is insulting when these people come online to hype Otti and make it seem as if he as the best in the nation presently. No sir. He is not. Not even remotely close. Obviously, he is the best Abia has ever had but comparing him to other states is insulting.

These online people are always talking about Otti roads projects, doing roads everywhere and all that. I checked the official documents recently, the km of roads done by Monday Okpebholo of Edo State (that we love to insult) in one year has almost equaled that of Otti in 3 years. Soludo that they are insulting up there has done X5 of what Otti has done within the same period and in the same sector. Same in other sectors....

So, why the unnecessary hype and comparison?

Good one. We can't be the creative capital of Nigeria and still drag position with other Nigerians.

Go Abia.

Those who lives in glass house don't throw stones. Kudos to otti. I love the guy.

Put urself in a persongers shoe... If u want enter bus which will u enter..

A. That one wey go full quick or the one wey go delay to full?

B.Again which one go reach destination quicker

The one wey carry less persongers or the one wey carry plenty passenger..?

Abia no b a state of very wide road network, it is usually good road but narrow lanes... Where this very big buses go ply and maneuver for sharp bending and turning?

It just won't work.. it's ok, if it's small buses.. maybe like coaster size not really shuttle size but coaster sizes..

If there’s anyone comparing and pointing or hyping it’s you!

The Op just wrote an article and never mentioned any other state apart from Abia.

If they are enjoying something good for the first time in a long while, let us all allow them bask in their moments. Nobody is in competition for the best governance here, just doing their best to make life blissful for their citizens. Let it start and end there.

Enough with the hate watch!
