What about a chat column? Where we can interact with each other like yahoo.com and others? 🤔 |

Allow us to be able to make our harmless adverts.. People should be able to contact reach via mails directly Increase the size of files from 5MB Most importantly anyone promoting a particular politician or political party should be cautioned Mentions can have notification on phones directories You can always employ nairalnaders as moderators for specific periods Bring back Mr and Mrs nairaland All banned accounts that have stayed on nairaland for more than 5years and have served bans for 3years can be released Contact me for more Contact me for more |

Redesign nairaland to have an icon that allow readers to view comments based on most "liked and shared" not only the usual fastest writer |

People should be allowed to deactivate their accounts. Contrary is oppressive. |

TheStoriesOfMan:Seun you are seeking advice in the wrong place. People are all different, with different tastes, interests, agendas, and peculiarities. Example, I disagree with above poster. Just like Ford said, "if I listened to people I'd make faster horses" or Steve Jobs who said people don't know what they want until you give it to them (he was told no one would be willing to carry phones around with them )My advice is to look at things that have been proven to work in other places and COPY them (modified for Nairaland). The short bans are great and as far as I can see they are working great. It has greatly reduced insults. You may consider having a Nairaland marketplace where people can buy and sell everything. I admire the simplicity and uncluttered nature of Nairaland and I commend you for maintaining that simplicity instead of becomming greedy. Be careful with monetization - you don't want a deluge of fake content. There are other ways. Example, Reddit ranks monikers based on their contributions to the site, and they have down votes (which automatically keep people polite ).Assume (like Steve Jobs) that you know what Nairalanders want better than them. Seek expert advice. Copy what's working elsewhere, (modified to suit Nairaland). Good luck |

You are okay just that you have not evolved like other platforms or sell yourself for billions of dollars... You have tried your best and improved to where the platform can allow you.... But by now you should be running a bank on this platform...if MTN can why can't you, you have solid Nigeria customer base . |

Hello Seun, First, I respect that you came here to ask us directly. For me, Nairaland is not over. It still has strong Nigerian relevance. But the energy is not the same anymore. One major issue is moderation. Some threads turn into pure insults and serious conversations get drowned. After a while, people who actually want to contribute meaningful content just get tired. Visibility is another thing. It’s mostly controversy that trends. Good business, educational or solution based posts don’t get pushed as much. So naturally, people post what will cause reactions instead of what will add value. Also, the look of the platform needs a refresh. We all know Nairaland is green...that’s the identity. But maybe it’s time for a visual upgrade. Not removing the green, but modernizing it. Cleaner interface, softer colors, small feature updates. Even perception alone can change engagement. Another big thing is creators. Other platforms reward creators with visibility, badges, monetization, or featured spots. On Nairaland, everyone just feels like a username in a thread. Maybe introduce a “Gems” section for quality posts, verified contributor badges, or spotlight serious creators weekly. That could encourage people to post better content consistently. I don’t think Nairaland is dead. It just needs stronger moderation, better visibility for quality content, a visual refresh, and systems that reward value. That’s my honest take. Respectfully, Maureen |

QuinQ:By the way I think the block button is totally useless and ridiculous on a site like Nairaland. I can't believe they actually talked you into having such a silly button. Nobody is forcing anybody to engage with any other person. You can simply ignore them and focus where you wish. That's what makes it an open forum! |

The overglamorization of foreign governments and news need to be curbed as its used to brainwash Nigerian youth into looking abroad for solutions to their problem. Some were rejoicing that foreign countries should take over Nigeria’s military, health and mining sectors. Foreign religion advertisement need to be seriously curbed as Fridays and Sundays posts are spammed with these religious bigots who look down and disrespect those who align with or practice traditional religion. Tribalistic posts need to be curbed as it’s causing further division amongst an already disenfranchised population. Seun: |

Only 13 page yet for this your post. When nairaland was at its primed, this your post would have definitely reached 40pages by now. There was a time I could never resist the urge to check nairaland every 30min every day for 365 days. But now, I can go days without even login in. |
| Re: Nairalanders, Talk To Me About Nairaland by QuinQ: 6:55pm On Mar 02 |
Lekan239:Not Nairaland's fault. Things wax and wane. Many forums have totally disappeared. New and more things come up. There's only so much attention available. TikTok was not around when Nairaland started, neither was Snapchat and many others, neither was monitization of many sites. Facebook has also become smaller than before, while WhatsApp has become bigger. Newer generation has many more choices and can also make money elsewhere. Things change and sometimes there's nothing you can do about it! |

QuinQ:yes we can say many things came up and its not nairaland's fault, but we shouldn't forget then, it was twitter and nairaland forum that has the most traffic and sometimes compete in Nigeria. I could also remember people have been asking for changes and update long time ago, so the forum could compete. Where is twitter today?. Yet we can categoraly compare twitter with nairaland because they are far apart and they serve different purposes. But nonetheless twitter engages in constant upgrade |

TheBlessedMAN:The literature section is the one that pained me particularly. I am among the top readers of the stories and voting then but NL just went to the dogs of politics and tribal war as well as those thread made to bash women. and only thing on NL that keeps me coming back |

ceejay80s:You dey mind am? nairaland is now boring and has fewer commenters and members unlike years before because of this auto ban nonsense why can't we be able to comement freely? If you don't want to read someones comment then you can block it instead. It is very frustrating getting banned and your comment deleted for no reason even without insulting or cursing anyone to compose and word comments and reply isn't easy it out of my friends and families I am the only one still visiting and commenting on nairaland whereas they were the ones who introduced me here like 12 formal nairalanders I know who have left. |
| Re: Nairalanders, Talk To Me About Nairaland by ultraviolet27(f): 7:46pm On Mar 02 |
seun why does the browser ask us to always verify we are human everytime we want to log into nairaland or visit the site?it is frustrating time wasting and tiring if not for the love I have for here I should have deleted my account and vamoose tey tey imagine wanting to browse the site 12 times a day and some computer dunderhead keep asking me to click some boxes and very if I am human ? Moreso the auto bot has to stop I wanted to comment on African traditional religion priest akwa okuko in Anambra whose shrine was destroyed and I was banned and my comment deleted even without cursing or breaking any rules if there is no freedom of speech anymore then why allow us to register on nairaland? imagine the stress of commenting and submitting your comments again many people who has not that kind of patience would leave and move to other sites all my family members that were regular nairaland members few years ago have all left and move to twitter so many I know are only active on bbn months and thread after the season they leave again!! |
| Re: Nairalanders, Talk To Me About Nairaland by femi4: 7:49pm On Mar 02 |
Seun:zThe banning bot is doing more harm than good The block a user make some thread look hidden n unattractive Can we return to days where news don't get to the fp without a credible source. NL has been pushing more fake news to the FP lately |
