End Of Honorable Mascot Ikwechegh by johngwain(op): 10:58pm On Mar 02
The END of Hon. Mascot Ikwechegh for speaking out loud!

1. On February 25th 2026, Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, member representing Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency and a key member of the Aids and Loans Committee confronted the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, over the unexplained disappearance of capital project funds, despite trillions of naira in loans and record-breaking revenues.

2. What began as a routine budget defence quickly escalated into a high stakes interrogation when Hon. Ikwechegh revealed a disturbing pattern:

3. Hon. Ikwechegh revealed that N1.15 trillion had been raised and specifically approved by the National Assembly to fund 30% of the 2025 capital budget

4. Hon. Ikwechegh went further to detail that Multiple loans had been secured, including: $1.2 billion for digital infrastructure, $500 million for economic stimulus, $500 million for MSMEs (approved December 2025), $500 million from the African Development Bank (November 2025) for economic governance and energy transition, and a recent executive request for $21 million, 15 billion Yen, and 4 billion Euros

5. Hon. Ikwechegh queried why despite this avalanche of borrowed money and strong revenue performance by agencies like FIRS, Customs, and others, capital projects across Nigeria remain at zero disbursement.

6. Hon. Ikwechegh, who was visibly frustrated, walked the Minister through the figures with surgical precision: he said to the minister, With all these funds put together, I want you to enlighten us on why the 2024 budget is yet to be fully implemented, and why the 2025 budget has only been funded 34%—most of which is recurrent expenditure?

7. Hon. Ikwechegh asked the minister to further enlighten us on why our capital projects still remain at zero?

8. When pressed, Minister Wale Edun shifted responsibility to the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, claiming she handled disbursements.

9. This deflection infuriated committee members who asked; If the substantive Minister of Finance cannot account for ₦1.15 trillion approved for capital projects, who can?

10. Lawmakers shouted at the committee sitting, demanding answers. Some called for the ministers to resign. The committee had no choice but to adjourn the hearing to Thursday, February 26th, summoning the Minister of State to provide the clarity the nation deserves.

11. After the committee meeting, Hon. Ikwechegh spoke to the press and said, “When capital projects funding are at zero, development stops. When development stops, Nigerians suffer”.

12. On Thursday's resumed hearing, where Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, was summoned to account for the missing ₦1.15 trillion, Uzoka-Anite confirmed that ₦1.15 trillion was indeed approved for capital projects. However, she revealed that disbursement protocols require multiple sign-offs, and that certain "pre-disbursement conditions" had not been met by some ministries.

13. She argued that while the funds exist, they cannot be released until Project documentation is complete

14. But committee members, armed with the Health Minister's earlier testimony that he received only ₦38 million of his ₦286 billion allocation, demanded to know: if protocols were the issue, why were some ministries given the runaround while others weren't?

15. Hon. Ikwechegh rose again and asked: “Mr. Chairman, can the minister tell this committee which specific ministry met all conditions and still did not receive funding? If none existed, why was ₦1.15 trillion approved when the government knew conditions weren't met?"

16. The minister could not provide a single example. Hon. Ikwechegh then said:
· If capital funds were approved, where are they?
· If they were misappropriated, who is responsible?
· If this is a crime, who will be held accountable?

17. Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh reminded the committee, if funds were approved but never reached their destination, that is not poor administration. That is a crime.

18. On February 27th 2026, Hon. Ikwechegh was invited to Aso Rock by President Tinubu for a close door meeting.

19. After the meeting with the president, Hon. Ikwechegh announced his resignation from his party APGA, announcing his intention to join the APC.

20. This is a classic move by Tinubu who always buys off his critics and sadly, Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh has become his latest victim.

21. Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh will soon begin to sing “on your mandate” and he will never never demand for accountability. It will be; see no evil, speak no evil.

22. Our prayers are with Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh!

If honourable Mascot is really sincere about his allegations, then he shouldn't join Apc cos that means he's about to sell his souls

Selling of one soul's don't mean you need to join one illuminati or occultic group. If you compromise your beliefs for money, you have sold your soul

What we Nigerians should do about this allegations is to take it up and know the real truth. If funds are indeed approved and not get to the destination, who has/have the funds and why?

This is the summary. Nigeria is totally gone.

On February 25, 2026, Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh challenged the Finance Minister, Wale Edun, during a budget hearing.

He said ₦1.15 trillion was approved to fund 30% of the 2025 capital budget. Nigeria also secured several large loans — including $1.2 billion for digital infrastructure and multiple $500 million facilities — while revenue agencies reported strong earnings.

Yet, capital projects across the country reportedly received no funding.

When asked why, the Finance Minister said the Minister of State for Finance handled disbursements. The Minister of State later confirmed the ₦1.15 trillion was approved but said funds could not be released because some ministries had not completed required documentation.

Lawmakers questioned why such a large sum was approved if conditions were not met, and why some ministries received little or nothing. No clear explanation was given about where the money currently sits.

Two days later, Ikwechegh met President Tinubu and soon announced he was leaving APGA to join APC. Critics argue the move weakens his stance on accountability, while others see it as political repositioning.

They are brazenly looting the budget in trillions.
That is what they always do. This is nothing but industrial scale looting of a country.
This is like handing the running of Nigeria to either Lawrence Anini and Sunday Oyewusi.

They basically get all these loans and tax receipts, they then forward the socalled budget to the legislature to observe all constitutional rites. After having the "budget" passed, then the wuuruwuuru starts..

Budgetary allocations are then delayed using all sorts of fabricated reasons. This is done so as to have enough surplus funds ploughed into the presidents piggy bank, from which he then run the country like a sole administrator.

Basically, the different ministries are intentionally denied of funds . The presidency is cornering all the funds. The president and his gang will then use the looted budget to do what they want, including bribing governors and senators to join the APC, and disburse the rest to their favored states.

This is what happens when you make a proven drug lord the president of an oil rich state..

Normally I like that man, and he's very top supporter of Alex Otti because of his governor ambition after Alex Otti, and the man have supporters almost all senatorial district of the state, but if this man dance in the tune of Tinubu, I trust Aba people they'll show him the way out.

Multiple loans including
$1.2 billion for digital infrastructure
$500 million for economic stimulus
$500 million for MSMEs
$500 million from the African Development Bank
Plus $21 million, 15 billion Yen, and 4 billion Euros.

Loans collected by this administration and embezzled. Not a penny channeled to the areas the loans were intended for. This is the most evil administration in the history of this country.
Not one capital project was funded in 2024 and less than 35% funded in 2025. Yet monies were approved and loans collected for that purpose. This is criminal! The APC is mortgaging the future of this country. The president and his party have squandered all these billions borrowed and tomorrow, you and I will be taxed to pay for it.

I find it absolutely heart breaking when very important issues are being discussed and it draws the attention of daft and shallow minded people jump into the ring to showcase their stupidity.
Let's us continue suffering and smelling making excuse for charlatans who don't even know our names or have any interest in out well being
When Boko Haram started killing Christian's and non northern Nigerian indigenes, some group of people were happy thinking the are sacred, majority of the northern can't go home freely, their woman and teenage daughters are been raped with their consent. How about the south east which used to be the commercial hub of the country, business decisions are no longer straight. Economic decisions are now been c-rayed under the lens of security. The south west has become a breeding ground where tyrant exact maximum control over state resources.
I will never see the Mascot as a patriot, rather one of them bold enough to stir the waters so that he can get his share of the loot and a front roll seat at the sharing table. You can only imagine how much his share is in that N1.15tillion in contracts.

The country is barely surviving, hanging on a thread of resilient entrepreneurs.

For you ethnic bigots, what's your stake in this?
