Anyways I remember how bad the scarcity was and I had to trek kilometres to get to the nearest filling station with fuel.
I remember very well how a large NNPC filling station just 10 mins walk from my house closed the gates on us saying they had no fuel, forcing people trekking kilometres to get fuel.
I remember how the manager called in soldiers to beat us up because of how rowdy the scarcity caused with the ensuing chaos and fights.
These people had fuel but where hoarding it just like the other useless marketers does when they want to fleece us. You go pay for keg, you go pay for gate fee to enter or go out after getting fuel to Agberos, that's not accounting for the fight or punches you might have chested and 2hrs+ you must have wasted on queues. Not accounting for the rude comments you might have endured from the fuel attendants who suddenly become as powerful as a governor, cos that's their moment of ego trip.

Anytime I pass that filling station today, because that station has been left abandoned since that year with the soldiers incident... anytime I pass there i still get angry from the memory.

So, I say eff monopoly, eff NNPC, eff FG, eff marketers, eff all of them.

This is not before Tinubu came in 2023 and lambast everyone with subsidy removal that somewhat dampened fuel consumption as households has almost abandoned fuel generators because of the prohibitively high price compared to dirt cheap years and better economy.

If government is actually serious they'd sell 600k barrels out of the 1.6mn barrels we currently produce to the Dangote refinery and we'd be shielded by a significant degree from this oil shock going on around the world. No let these people gaslight you.

Dangote refinery can very well serve Nigerian consumption with ease, without imports sef.
In case y'all don't know, Dangote imports over 50% of his oil (with the majority of imports from the US) the rest is what it can get from Nigeria. So, definitely the oil price worldwide is going to affect it.

If Nigeria can't supply it's own refinery the oil it needs, who's fault is it? These are the questions we need to start asking. Especially that useless organisation the NNPC and it's peripherals— NUPRC, NMDPRA.

For me the Nigerian equivalent of those anti Isreal podcast gang has to be David Hundeyin. They believe everything bad and wrong with America today is because of the Jews, they control the government, they control the media, they control the military, they control the banking sector etc. They say Trump is Bibi's puppet, he always puts Israel first above America.

Same as David who sees CIA in everything wrong with Nigeria. For me it's just crazy.
