Don’t see any stunt he was trying to do there. Just a keeper trying to play out from the back like what keepers do in modern day football.

He inspired managers like pep to prefer ball playing goalkeepers, if he was playing during this era he would have been hot cake for European clubs.

Omoh! nah that Chiluvat gangan I respect pass, his freekick nah die, scoring from open play and set piece are other things is good at, his keeping prowess, ball control and put fears on opposing players also stand out couple with his stature ( very wide chest). Another one is that short keeper from Mexico (I have forgotten his name).

It's because of him they change the rules. He can't be doing such rubbish in football of today
Re: Remember The Legendary Colombian "Madman" Dribbler Goal Keeper René Higuita by hilaryCU(m): 9:01pm On Mar 05
Football has evolve a great deal by then. It was never at its earliest stage.
Love800:
Doubt he can try dis in dis era. Football was still at it earliest stages of evolving then.

Even guardiola would not want his goalkeeper to play at this height.
Re: Remember The Legendary Colombian "Madman" Dribbler Goal Keeper René Higuita by hilaryCU(m): 9:10pm On Mar 05
He had the chance to kick the ball out but he hesitated. No one apart from you people on nairaland has ever blamed someone else.
Stephen0mozzy:
But that defender na hindiot for that kain pass na. That was a poor ball.

And that scene isn't any humiliation sef, man lost the ball as the last line of defense. The player nor even dribble am

benardtotti:
Exactly the defender played rubbish but you cant blame him most players then were used to goalkeepers who stay back and use their hands.
Re: Remember The Legendary Colombian "Madman" Dribbler Goal Keeper René Higuita by hilaryCU(m): 9:13pm On Mar 05
He has opportunity to kick the ball out. Why are you supporting him
Bwanasaraw:
Exactly. The fault was from the defender not goal keeper.

Thumbs up 👍 to all great goal keepers especially former France goalkeeper Fabian Batez
Re: Remember The Legendary Colombian "Madman" Dribbler Goal Keeper René Higuita by hilaryCU(m): 9:15pm On Mar 05
He has opportunity to kick out the ball. So, he caused the goal.
Stephen0mozzy:
Agreed sha... But him team mates supposed know say the guy na werey. They were already playing high field, back pass like that even if keeper plaster goal post is still risky.

Football has generally improved sha
