It's easy to talk tough when you're not the one getting pounded by the Americans and Isrealis while making enemies of your gulf neighbours.

Reno would have been worse.

Tuggar was cooked terribly by Piers Morgan and that Canadian lady on Piers Morgan Uncensored so tey he became belligerent and started shouting .

Bayo Onanuga, Ajuri Ngelale would have been a mismatch. They speak in hesitant, halting manner using lots of fillers. Ditto for Lai Mohammed and Garba Shehu of PMB govt. Also, these peeps wouldn't have been able to cope with the fast-paced rapid question style of Mehdi.

Like G.Gbola said, Mehdi is a known hostile interviewer and the whole idea of the show is to put guests under pressure with uncomfortable questions.

Make una no dey underestimate how difficult this kinda interview setting is. You sit across someone whose job is to grill you, interrupt, twist your words, and keep pushing until you slip. The audience of the show already leans skeptical, so you are in unfriendly territory in the first place.

Most Nigerian government spokesmen are used to local press briefings where journalists allow long answers and soft landings. That setting differs from a rapid-fire studio interview like Head to Head where Mehdi controls the pace and keeps cutting you off.

So judging DB's outing as if the goal was to win the interviewer no be am. The goal is simple. Hold your ground, avoid major blunders, and launder and pass across your government's talking points to an international audience.

The only place Daniel Bwala struggled was his past statements on Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Mehdi kept going back to those old utterances. That angle boxed him in because he had to spend time explaining the turnaround instead of focusing fully on defending government policy.

Apart from that, he stayed in the seat, kept a friendly genial disposition, answered most of the questions, deflected and parried a few, disputed some figures and data, fired a few salvos at Mehdi and did not melt down under pressure. On a program like Head to Head, that already counts for something.

I rest my fingers.

I give you grammar for grammar. From your fellow academic no less

Mehdi Hasan did not disgrace him. Bwala did that himself. Hasan merely kept the receipts
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 1:55pm On Mar 07
Tuggar did fairly well. Held his own against Piers and another female Canadian politician who's pro-Israel.

raumdeuter:
I didnt watch the Tuggar interview. Was it 1v1 or like this Daniel vs Mehdi plus the additional questioner plus the crowd

He didnt do bad at all. He did fair

If dem put you do you think you would have done better?

The question they were able to trip him were when Mehdi was quoting his past comments which he didnt handle well

Just 8days into the war, and the Israeli weapon stockpile is almost empty. Israel should pray against any global war that will see America face either China or Russia directly. These type of handouts will be scarce

I agree with all these

The past statements probably caught him off guard
A better answer would have been that he didnt know Tinubu so well and was depending on 3rd hand information
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 4:13pm On Mar 07
Ellexy:
You're missing the point the point. Daniel was citing IMF and as far as they keep lending you money, they'll say you're doing fine. The only sources saying Nigeria are doing fine internationally are the those Nigeria is owing money.

And the same Daniel didn't believe the following sources;
- All polls both local and international
- Local sources
- Nigerian Airforce
- Even he himself. How can you not believe yourself?
This is an easy answer the only polls that matter is the one on election day
Polls in recent times both in Nigeria and the west have been wildly wrong
Pre 2023 election all polls showed Obi would win yet he came 3rd
Polls showed Hillary would win yet she lost
Polls showed Kamala vs Trump would be close yet she lost scandalously

The only polls that matter is done on election day

If you are okay with foreign bodies opinion when criticizing Tinubu you should also be okay with the same foreign bodies when praising him otherwise na hypocrisy

"I'll do better than SeyiLaw or Bwala gang"..

What exactly do you want to successfully defend about BAT?
Ask for evidence where Deloitte said Tinubu did not work for them on air

Simple

What part of Nigeria is Obi and/or Atiku responsible for?
The future of Nigeria that they claimed they will do better

Plus Obis record in Anambra for 8yrs and Atikus 8yrs as VP

Piers is more level headed than Mehdi.

Mehdi acts like its you against him while Piers set opponents against themselves and tries to moderate which he does fairly most times

I prefer Piers style where you can face an opponent not the one where the interviewer is your opponent

They will tell you that Nigeria is safer today than it was before Tinubu came on board.

They will say there's a better way to spin the question and actually prove the security situation has improved even though Nigerians are kidnapped and killed by bandits/Fulani Militia/ Boko haram.🤮

May partisan politics/politicians' support not mold us into a being that dismisses real issues that affect our fellow citizen's life and death 🤲

Iran won't beg ke? When UAE was already prepping to start bombing Iran themselves. An Iran that now doesn't have air defence, an Iran that doesn't have a navy, an Iran that China and Russia have categorically refused to send any military hardware to at this current time.

Same thing is happening in Lebanon. Lebanese government are actually arresting Hezbollah men grin grin

They should not have begged and continued messing with Gulf money. Bombing Dubai alone was enough provocation and tbh the UAE has shown great restraint this far. We already knew this begging was coming when airlines resumed limited passenger flights out of the region this week.

Etihad,Qatar airways and Emirates planes are already moving knowing that Iran have been given ultimatum - manage your 2v1 before we take it to 10v1 ghettogaggers style.

Just dey watch. grin grin ;
