ironheart:A new road will relief pressure on those old ones and new economic hubs will spring up......an importer than have his container cleared at calabar port or onne and will find it easier to evacuate to lagos or abj because of these kinds of insfrastructure.......lagos to PH to and fro can be done in a day......imagine how much of a boost this will be to the economy.....I am into logistics and we have alot of activities around the lekki axis,we now have quicker, less costly and easier turn around times for delivery because of this new road......imagine the multiplier effect across board......with this road, you can actually be working on ondo state and be commuting from lagos to and fro daily, imagine what this can do to the economy of ondo state......the lekki free zone alone has added billions to the economy of several communities within that corridor that were hitherto moribund before now,i know what eleko was like 20 years ago compared to now. |

DeepSight:And your inferences depicts you as an obi apologist who would criticise anything tinubu does no matter how good.......roads drive development you can deny all you want.....electricity cannot be wholly funded by govt we have lost decades without investments in that sector there is so much wrong with Nigeria's electricity sector that no govt can solve in 4 yrs........any investments now is like a seed going to mature in the future......tinubu has made it clear that private investments is what will drive that sector and govt will do all they can to engender this and that they are doing......i don't support obi but i still commend him for the ojukwu highway he built from head bridge to zik round about, imagine onitsha today without that road. |

Lithiumite:+ I am not an Obi apologist. Answer my question. Which is more important for development. Power or those roads which have already existing routes? |

kettykin: I think any mature mind knows that the benefits will be far more than cost because this is a construction for now and the future generations because of concrete pavement. As for the grid, that's a different thing entirely and it's very important that FG is seriously working on lasting solution to it. |
| Re: Aerial View Of The Ongoing Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway Construction by PolyGamous(m): 9:52am On Mar 08 |
kettykin:This is actually a good question, I will answer according to my own view. 1. The benefits of this project is much, great road has so many economical benefits. Roads connecting regions shouldn’t be fixed, I feel there should be multiple roads for security reasons “when there’s multiple roads leading to same region, there will be options and decongestion leading to swift supply chain and policies can be made to tie heavy trucks to one while we hope the government builds railways that will eventually reduce heavy truck’s travel distances, making journeys more safe and swift for cars and buses. 2. And for the Grid, I don’t know why I always find it difficult to blame the government for that “because, I am so confident if there were private power generating plants, just as we have so many private oil drilling companies companies competing with NNPC” the grid will keep getting bad. Our population is not stagnant, but our power generation is more of stagnant for too long. More hands are needed, even if the government increases the power output, it still can never serve us. China never stop generating power, even doing more research to keep that growing “though, we can’t compare china’s type of economy to any country’s because of their government system style is different. The structure we have can accommodate more power, but we are producing less. NEPA needs competitors, not just distributors. And it sincerely will be harsh, if the presidency bans importations of generators, solar panels, and inverters for investors to look into investing in power generating locally. It should be other way “people invest in power generating locally first, then policy will be made to curb importation”. 3. The last one, should we be doing this now? Well, I think that answer tracks back to the company handling some projects, we as Nigerians are not used to the kind of HiTech MO, the projects the company is handling looks promising than that any other company is handling, and that’s because HiTech uses their money ahead of payments from Government. They get their boots on ground immediately they secured projects, compared to other companies that get payments first, work while the payment last, then stop till another deposit is made. Their MO makes it looks like there are priorities across the projects they are handling compared to other approved projects. Just my view, I’m not trying to be the Omni-knowest. |

yinkus6750:You're right, your observations and concerns are genuine. I believe that as they progress the place will begin to open for business development like fuel stations, eateries and other hospitality business will come on board like it's happening now on Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway. This will make the road busy and reduce insecurity on the corridor. |
| Re: Aerial View Of The Ongoing Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway Construction by Lithiumite: 9:57am On Mar 08 |
DeepSight:They are both important, non supercedes the other......the govt is still paying subsidy on the power you consume and all lot of activities is happening in that sector that you still won't see the results until much later ...... |

DeepSight:What do you need the power for? To watch Arsenal matches abi? Or watch Big Brother? The little power given to you have you paid for it? And you want 24hrs light like America. Can you pay for the light? What is 24hrs light without using it for production? While politicians have their problems, you too should change. Do you know how much is being owed to the Discos? Is power free in America? |
| Re: Aerial View Of The Ongoing Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway Construction by DeepSight(m): 10:34am On Mar 08 |
Thedon22:+ Sure, we dont need power. I guess I was wrong, In fact thanks for your wisdom. I will start a campaign to ask that we cease to ask for power or even have power in this country. Thank you, oh exposed and learned sage. As for the bold, I have words. I am beaten. |

kettykin:My personal observations and information gotten privately from people in the sector up to the ministerial level. The grid and power issue has constitutional restrictions (e.g like who can generate or distribute electricity e.tc) attached to it. Some powerful influence have tied all these laws to themselves one way or the other that’s why you always have Power Act 19xx or another Bills relating to NEPA every year. So the government cannot just pushed through their power policies without settling all these Big influences that designed this Bills over the years (either via Bills Or paying huge fees). But the road construction or ministry of work is not like that. It is straightforward, worst case the government will pay the land owner (remember govt own every land irrespective of the title you hold) and can push through the construction just like they did with the coastal road. This government have been trying to unbottle all these Bills recently, Buhari did one just before leaving where they say States can now generate electricity and add to the grid, Tinubu administration has signed it. The latest one is that we shouldn’t be paying for our Meters, that the Disco should be responsible for it. These are the things that are being unbundled one by one and it takes time because (you have to pass it through the Senate) and you are removing food from some big influences table that they will fight back because they have the resources. One major war coming up this year will be Power subsidies; the government is paying so much on it and no power to back it up. I would have loved to explain how power tariff subsidies work in Nigeria, but it will be really long; those who designed that law are wicked people Until all theses botttlenecks are resolved largely, our power problems will persist. I hope this helps a little. PS: I am trying to play in this sector so these are based on my own findings |

vibratingpenis:The indignation of the obidient. Built on emotion and ending with abuse 🤣🤣🤣 The person is asking people to build an argument so that he can knock them down because they are unable to build their own case. If no foolish person takes them on, he will say "you see - my point is valid" I will point out your foolishness and my comment will be a light house to innocent souls who have not understood the deceptive maze of obidient foolishness. From this point, your abuse becomes self confirming of your identity and nature. You are so easy to suss out. |

Useless government that never gets her priorities right. You allocated just N35m to health in a full year for capital projects and you are building useless road to Sokoto for bandits and supporter of APC to use. The last day I took my mum to Luth, my eyes was full of tears for this useless country, no bed space, no doctors on ground, nurses are on strike or no available radiology equipments cos it's all damaged. If you support this useless government then you are as wicked as the government. |
