this is not true. They are showing something written in Biro, whereas Biro was only developed in the 40's. people in 1918 mainly used dip pens and fountain pens. Ballpoint pens started entering Nigeria 1950s.

That letter was apparently written to him in 1898 by his inlaw. If he was married at the time then he would be more than 127 years. Let’s assume that he married at age of 16, that would put his birth year around 1882.

This man would be more than 130 years.

Now the question is, who found the letter, where was it found and when was it found.

Answer lies in carbon dating the said document.
I have no doubt in my mind that this man is a Methuselah. He has a longevity gene and he is still compos mentis.

People live longer now than 100 years ago cos of better health care. In those days you are talking about, common malaria is a deadly sickness. Chicken pox was a plague that can destroy a whole village.

Honestly, reaching such age could rather be a burden to the person! Imagine suffering old age symptoms for that long! Old age is a disease on it's own! I just want to be alive to birth my children and help them stand on their feet. Maximum of 85yo is okay for me!

I think my grandpa was the oldest human being I've ever seen. Man got his last wife when he was 110 that's was in 1985.

Man was so old he lost all skin color and turn poor white from head to toe, lost all teeth, his eyes literally disappeared into the eyes socket, only skin was attached to his bone, as of 2010 he was still living, we had to do call a doctor to do the needful when he literally was at the stage of not living or dead.

Well, I don't believe the man is upto 128 yrs. There was no means of calculating age those days. A man that is 128 years will most likely not have a grandson as young as that guy.

The first child of a man that is 128 yrs will probably be btw 100 and 105 (calculation based on the fact that they begin giving birth early in those days). The grandchild shd be btw 60 and 80 yrs old.

Those guys are probably chasing claut. That babba shd be btw 90 and 100 yrs.

Anybody can write any letter and put whatever date they like, it's up to fact checkers to deduce if it was truly written on that date. How I wish historians can get their hands in that letter, they can determine if it was truly written in that era. The early 20th century historians know the type of paper, ink and even writing style used in that era. I'm not sure if we have those types of historians in Nigeria but they exist wella.

It's grace coupled with genetical factor not the food. Many of his age mates who ate the same food are long gone and moreso he's presently eating the food in this modern generation and still waxing stronger

If not for man and his constant meaningless wars, many like this geezer would be alive today. There is no trick to achieving old age, only hope and preparation. War is one sure way to delete tens of thousands — sometimes millions of people. God knows how many of those would have achieved and even surpassed his age. Nature always wins in the end.

Well I don't know how it works in the SE, but in the SW it is very common not to know the age of your parents and especially grandparents....and who born you to ask them outright!

In fact I know people over 60 who still don't know the age of their elders and are scared to ask them outright before it is seen as a handshake that has extended to the elbows

Merely asking of name can be term as disrespect sef.

I was trying to get the names of my progenitors and my father could only recollect up to great grandparents.

When I ask why he didn't know the rest, he told me it's considered an insult to be asking the name of elders.
