“I pulled it out”- Man shares how much he saw before withdrawing cash in US bank A Nigerian man based in the United States has gone viral after sharing his encounter before withdrawing money from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). The man, identified as @Ekun II on X (formerly Twitter), shared that he drove to the ATM to get cash. Man Shares Encounter In the now-viral tweet, @Ekun II disclosed that as he was about to insert his card into the ATM, he saw $100 hanging from the cash dispenser. Subsequently, he pulled it out and withdrew his money, although he had mixed thoughts about what to do with the $100 he saw at the cash dispenser. Eventually, he walked into the bank to return the money. Read tweet below….. Something just happened. I drove to the drive-through ATM to get cash. As I was about to insert my card, I saw a $100 bill hanging from the cash dispenser. I pulled it out, got my own cash, then temptation hit: just take the money and go. Banks have plenty money. Another thought came: So because of just $100, you want to destroy the good life God has given you?I went back inside the bank and returned the money. In all my life in the United States, you can never be too careful. Reactions trailing below…… Letter Mike inquired, “So in essence you actually wanted to keep the money but you were afraid that one cctv somewhere is watching you”. Oluwaseun remarked, “Seyi, make I no catch you for this thing wey you do”. Mazi asserted, “This shows that you would have taken the money if not that you know you’d be caught and you would serve severe consequences. Simply explains why Nigerians behave differently at home and abroad”. Brother Sinz, “Wise decision 👍Cos if not, dem fit tag person as thief, send am go jail.. and lastly, return am to the source of origin .Living in the state requires big “. See below…..

Nostalemate:I think this person consciously considered, as in, thought about the long term, by having it in their mind so it is kept there and worked on so a most profitable decision was made. Think of him as not preferring one marshmallow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y6R5boDqh4?si=bLeqhCesbmS3Sics "In mind" means having a thought, idea, plan, or person currently in your consciousness or consideration. It is often used in phrases like "to have something in mind" (a plan/intention), "to bear/keep in mind" (remembering something), or "with someone in mind" (considering someone). |

I'd return it of course. They have cameras pointing directly at your face and it could be a sting. $100 is not worth the risk. $100K, maybe |

The camera of course will catched him, but they will not arrest him. It is $100, the worst they will do is to debit his account or send him an email/mail for him to return it. $100 is too small for institution to round after you in the United states. They will consider the cost of pursuing you to recover $100. Few years back, the golden lock on my car was cut out of the car, I called to report, I was told no police is coming out to investigate if the cost is under $1000. It is good to return it because of one intergrity. |

It happened to me in the past. I got to the ATM then I saw $60 already dispensed. I took it then withdrew mine. It’s over 7yrs now and nothing happened. If I see it again I will take it and nothing will happen. |

The money had been dispensed. He can leave the money there and insert his card and make withdrawal and take it alongside the money he withdrew. The issue is not even camera. He went there and made a valid withdrawal. The issue is that ATMs have camera and when replayed will show there's $100 there when he made his and that he took it along. Chances are that the missing money may not even be discovered. And everything is not fear. There was a time I went to first Bank Central area Abuja for a transaction and on my way out, I say a phone on the floor, a powerful phone and picture of one hajia on the face. I didn't trust to give anyone, so I took it to make sure I give it to the owner. On my way to the office, the woman called and started crying, I asked not to, she then gave the phone to a man. I asked them to come to a public place nearby. And they came and I gave the man back the phone because the woman refused to cross road. That's how they started thanking me "you are a good man". I had no fear of camera or anything but just determination to give back the phone to owner. Because I knew how pained I felt when a powerful phone I bought at Hong Kong airport when coming back from Seoul disappeared in a public secured place in Abuja. They played all cctv but couldn't catch the thief. So atimes people just do things with good conscience |
