They criticized other governments before them of mismanaging the so called windfalls.

Where are the, 'oil was over a hundred dollars during the Jonathan regime crew', they have been conspicuous with their silence.

The fact is that most governments since the 70's experienced an oil windfall of some sort during their regimes. This time around it is the BAT regime's turn. Let us see how the money is spent or otherwise.

Remember, all governments since the 70's had paid one sort of fuel subsidy or the other up til this one. So without the so called wasteful spending in subsidy the national kitty should be looking like cave where Alibaba raided, full of treasures.

We spent 2014-date with chronically low oil prices, and debts were incurred, and now that the oil price has gone up, the debts have to be paid back

Nigeria needs to stop relying on oil, and start relying on industrial goods and services. And tax the gdp more. Anyting else means more borrowing.

I do not agree wth the statement of calling the Minister of Defence General Christopher Musa Foolish for his proposition of border walls to protect Nigeria from terrorist infiltration , such security measure is very needed for our survival as sovereign country, even Eu, shenghen and USA now has a border and control within their teritorial arrangement in order to curb out terrorist coming from ukrain,belerus and the balkan countries.. I for sure kow not everyone with a charismatic voice has sense so i rest my case.

The problem is fuel price is determined by crude oil price. It is an international thing. That's why the price has jumped up in most parts of the world.

It is like that except the government intervened in some ways internally.

OK, so why is naira not appreciated but rather depreciating despite the extra earnings from crude. Russia and other oil producing countries are rubbing their belle with joy.

LOL...the person in this case also has a debt of 500000 naira...thanks to years of living at 60k and having a growing family, or even growing needs, he has taken loans that at the time of the increase of his salary has reached 500000 naira.

So, what's that person going to do? A large chunk of the money is going to sort out the loans so he renegoitates his loan repayment...and pays 55000 monthly to clear it eventually. Meaning he ends up earning 65000 naira effectively, after settling his loans

Plus nothing stops the person taking loans from taking new ones as the need arises...

How can Nigeria make money from something that they barely produce? Nigeria need to produce 3 million barrels of crude oil a day to break even.

It was the likes of Sowere who protested against the removal of oil subsidies in 2012, which would have released funds to invest in oil exploration, refineries, and electricity power plants. The lack of investment in the oil sector is the reason why Nigeria is suffering today.

You're one of the 3 posters here who made the MOST SENSE about the actual reality of events in your post. The rest of these young posters are LARGELY clueless about the truth of what you posted right above.

Ever since the current Nigerian President came into office in May 2023, a lot of efforts have been made to discover more oil wells like those in the onshore and offshore South West of Nigeria in especially Ogun, and Ondo States, including the deep offshore Niger Delta and restarting production from dormant oil wells since the 1990s like those in Ogoniland in order to meet up the daily crude oil production to break even and the Federal government MUST be commended for doing that.

Iliteracy and semi-literateracy are indeed signs of carcinogenic diseases which destroy societies if NOT checked!

I replied a similar post here yesterday and I said we don't need democracy in this part of the world. All we need is a benevolent dictator. I am 45,years of age and I have been hearing up NEPA since I was a child. Take a deep search in countries that run a fair Authoritarian kind of government and you would see that they have discipline and believe in accountability.

Tinubu and his predecessors are all politicians and they use democracy to manipulate the minds of the masses for thier own selfish gains. Obasanjo, the pioneer and the first democratic elected president was a former military ruler but he still goofed in the name of setting legislators to pass bills. Of course, Karma will sure do its thing. All other president after him followed the same template and corruption worsened since then. If you read the pattern now, all governor's wants to align with the ruling party because of selfish reasons. The western countries that practice and promote this type of system has a long history of wuru wuru to the answer

Ibrahim Traore and some other countries have taken this course. Gradually they will get there. A God fearing authoritarian leader will eventually scrap the idea of Aso rock and enforce a good local government system. He would be a king and will be opened to scrutiny. This I have seen. Heads will roll and the western forces will oppose it. especially Britain and France. A new reset is about to happen. We can't continue with this trend of chronic alvarice. Evil has become the norm with this so called democracy. May God Almighty remove this fear from our heart.

Gas is getting higher in the US yesterday I bought it $3.89 from $2.15 which is a massive increase, is it increaes in health insurance premium under trump, loss of jobs (92,000) last month, increase in the price of groceries? I can go on and on.
