President Tinubu has directed the immediate deployment of 100,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion kits across the country to cushion the impact of the Middle East war on Nigerian commuters facing an increase in transportation costs

Executive Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (Pi-CNG), Ismaeel Ahmed, disclosed the President’s directive to journalists after meeting with President Tinubu at the presidential villa.

Ahmed said the President is keenly monitoring global developments and their impact on Nigeria’s energy costs, particularly the effect of the Middle East conflict on fuel prices and transportation.

He explained that the kits, which will be deployed within the next two to three weeks and distributed in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, will enable vehicle owners, including tricycle operators, to convert their engines to run on gas.

He added that President Tinubu specifically directed that infrastructure expansion should focus on key transportation corridors, particularly in the northern part of the country.

He disclosed that about 77 CNG refilling stations are currently at various stages of development nationwide. According to him, the government plans to establish a chain of refueling points along major transport routes stretching from Lokoja through Abuja, Kaduna, Zaria, and Kano up to Maiduguri.

So nobody could advise FG until now about the mass implementation of this CNG.

Apc govt has finished us. 100,000 conversion kits because of the hike in fuel price. If the fuel price falls, the kits get hoarded.

Damn too expensive...since government refuses to re-introduce subsidy, then government should subsidize the CNG components and the installation.

At least it should not be more than 50k for components and installation and nobody should be allowed to import it into the country from now till the next two years except the government so that the government own wouldn't be stolen by government officials and start selling to the citizens.. That's the only way since we all know that our government and their officials are thieves....
