Kobicove:The trade fair complex was built for the trade fair and for the past 30 years it has operated as a market with stalls operated permanently by shop keepers, since by law markets are under the authority of LG it is only logical using the doctrine of decentralisation and federalism that the FG must transfer it. This is not unique to Lagos it's must be done nationally. FG must stop encroaching on the rights of states and LGs |

ogododo:If a federal structure or facility is located in a State and the FG wants to relinquish its control or give it out, the State has the right of first refusal because the structure is situated on State land. The traders association should look for a very good lawyer that would represent them well whenever they want to enter any new Agreement and also obtain a court injunction to prevent the State from ejecting them or increasing fees and levies until an Agreement is reached. |

Hedonisco:Is there any market in any part of Nigeria that is under Federal govt control? The market will be handed to both Lagos state and the host LG. |

kingsavage:You are too dull to understand that if the govt imposes more taxes and levies the traders will pass it on to the consumers, making the price of things very expensive for the common man. With the increase in fuel price, and now increases on taxes in spare parts that means you go trek wella go work |

| Re: Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Shut Over Planned Government Takeover by DomPerignon: 3:50pm On Mar 11 |
peleson1:Lagos state donated the land and I am sure the complex was built using majority funding from Lagos and Niger Delta oil. Your people have no say in this property until that m0r0n GEJ decided to hand it on a platter of gold for next to nothing to you Ibos. Now the FG giveth and the FG taketh. Go and show me which market in all the federation that is being managed by FG? As I said if you are not comfortable with the new owners, you can pack your kaya back to Onithsa head bridge |

Ndigbo don't just invest in commerce. Your children born in diaspora should take politics of wherever they live serious and provide leadership in powerful countries. Your economic power is now under constant attack by those who envy and hate you. Take my advise and rise about them by a thousand levels. Enough said. |

Dalohad:So how do you propose that they do that? You can't just take what does not belong to you. You can never rise beyond what you have. |
| Re: Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Shut Over Planned Government Takeover by Dalohad: 4:05pm On Mar 11 |
dragunov:It does not happen in a day or year. The Igbo nation should be more futuristic and long-sighted than any other nationality, considering what they have suffered. In the 1940 and 1950s, the Jews in Europe as America were exactly where the Igbos are now in Nigeria. Marginalized in every facet of governance, politics and commerce. How they rebuilt and rebounded is in the pages of history, open to all.. Follow their manual.. |
