Most of the privatization in Nigeria was carried out before 2015. Over 100+ state enterprises were privatized or concessioned. The question is what is the state of these enterprises today?

Nitel/Mtel
Power generation and distribution
Steel and heaven industry (Delta Steel)
Banking assets
Cement and manufacturing
Ports

Between 2015 and now. There have been very few privatization of government enterprises. Some proposals are in the works.

While I don't understand the essence of the comparison because most of the privatization was done before 2015, I would say the privatization of government assets have been a failure in Nigeria.

The essence of the comparison is reflected in Wale Edun's statement below as well as Indorama petrochemicals news.

Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited (IEPL) has emerged as a major value creator in the Nigerian economy. Since Indorama Corporation of Indonesia became core investor in the old Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited (EPCL) in 2006 through privatisation programme of the Federal Government, the group has become a game changer in the Nigerian economy.

The petrochemical company has solved the major challenge facing a number of manufacturers— poor access to raw materials. Rather than scramble for foreign exchange to import inputs, the company ensures that manufacturers have access to their critical raw materials, enabling them to save costs and improve margins.

The major resins used by plastic and allied companies are polyethylene and polypropylene. Indorama produces about 45 grades of these products for various industries. About 600 of such companies in Nigeria depend on IEPL for their survival. They are estimated to have over 90,000 workers.

100 million Nigerians registered to vote at the last election. 9 million elected Tinubu, and the two closest got like 6 million each, meaning 75% of eligible Nigerian voters decided to sit on their asses and not vote.

I do not have sympathy for, and nor will I defend those who are unwilling to fight for their own emancipation, and will in fact praise us when we understand and realise how powerful we are to effect the change we want.

Many are part of the problem they are wailing about. They refuse to vote or sell their vote for a pittance, then come here to wail about their starvation.

My hope is we learn so more than 50% vote for the next Nigerian president and 90% for the one after.
