A Lagos commuter has gone viral online after repeatedly speaking out about the shortage of BRT buses in the state.

The woman first gained attention after posting a video complaining about the difficulty many residents face while trying to get transportation in Lagos.

"Obidients are bullies" but here you are supporting the bullying and harrasment of a young woman trying to use activism to bring accountability and change.
She has to blur their faces. On my Facebook feed if I take a picture of a bus stop all faces will be blurred. My own is I don't want anyone asking me for money when the thing blows.

Churches should stop chattering BRT buses for their programmes. Also the Lagos state government should stop chattering buses to companies and organisations while the average commuter suffers. Her awareness is legit. Please she needs some male volunteers to protect her from these unnecessary harassment by APC people.

You mean pointing the camera at herself which captures other people's faces? She doesn't need consent. Just because you don't like being seen on other people's cameras doesn't mean there's any legal problem with it. She knows what she's doing, apparently knows the law better than you do 🤡
Nobody has the right to record people or transmit their pictures without express permission. Do you use Google ? When Google try to do their security thing with pictures you will notice all faces are blurred and all car licence plates are blurred. Ideally Google does not even have the right to take those pictures in the first place.

Why do you have to video people without their consent

If 1% of Nigerians were like this lady govt will never be doing anyhow. She should be protected. She's a national treasure!

Just showing queque of people entering a bus may not be sufficient for why more buses should be provided. To make a case for more buses, there may be a need to state interval of bus arrival. I see somewhere she was saying if she waits for 5 minutes to join a bus, she is making a video, and i started suspecting it was for clout purposes. 1 hour waiting for a bus during peak hours is not fair and needs to be worked on. It makes absolute sense there would be waiting interval and it may be more than 5 minutes,if it is justified than waiting passengers usually fill them up within such interval, then buses should be provided. The buses also want to generate money from standing passengers.

I think what most people are saying is about her taking pictures and recording people,

I recently had a fashion exhibition of works of fashion mostly t-shirts in a five star hotel in Lagos, they gave me the space free of charge for two days to make their foreign travellers happy. One thing I noticed was Oyinbo will always ask you before they take pictures. There was this woman in her fifties who kept on asking me like close to twenty times " can I take a picture of this ". The Nigerian guests were taking pictures without even asking.

Worse is the ignorant perchance to make excuses and condone ineptitude. The Lady is raising concerns. If government sees and decides to improve the situation, who does it hurt? Nobody. Rather it is to everyone's gain.

The way APC and their government have captured many minds with this oppression and intimidation is mind boggling. I can bet my blocos that that lady fighting the camera girl na APC card carrying member. Nothing wey no body fit tell me. This is state capture at its finest. Anybody that identifies lapses and tries to speak out is attacked, intimidated and harass. That is why a bwala think he can do the nonsense he does to Nigerians at Aljezeera. Its crazy. Its the same mindset from Tinubu down to this brt woman. I just pray Nigerians wake up and deliver themselves and if them sey what about me, hmmmm,

Make I no talk wetin dey my mind...

Use your brain..those are news agencies. This is a content creator who likes attention…and sometimes also opens her cleavage to also market herself while always taking an aerial view and she does it everyday. I’m not in support of the terrible government but you can do the right things the wrong way. How do you put me in your video everyday without my consent do you know that is a security risk on its own and the whole internet knows my location? I’m not also supporting the man that threatened her but let’s do things with moderation. I have the right not to be in her video if I don’t want to. She can make a video and still calling it the govt without showing people’s faces

Totally wrong. Anytime you're in a place where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy anybody has a right to record you. You have a right to record anything you can see from a public space. However using your image for commercial purposes or clearly focusing on you in particular is a different matter all together!

You have shifted the goal post. Your comment I responded to said she had no right to video people. Well, now you know, she does! Suppose it was a secret or area mounted camera? Any time you're in a place without reasonable expectation of privacy, anybody has a right to video you. What they do with your image on the video is a different matter all together. If they use it in advertisement or such, you take them to court, NOT attack them on the street! In this case I think this lady will win any court case

How wrong you are. That is why the great Google blurs images when they do their security check. " Tap on Fire Extinguishers ". They blur plate numbers and people riding motorcycles and you have noticed the images are generally of very poor quality that is because they make the pictures hard to detect where they were taken. The only time you can take pictures and nobody will complain is when your picture is viewed as a " Public Safety Asset " . Let us say a bank is burning and you take pictures of the bank and people running out nobody will challenge you because the focus is the burning building and spreading information about a calamity, or a building collapses.
If you take a picture of the outside of a bank on.a good day the bank has the right to ask you to get those pictures of social media.

YouTube does not allow anyone to upload pictures or videos of women walking on a road. Close to 15 Candid video sites all lost their internet licenses or websites because it was felt the women in the videos were being secretly recorded. Me being a sharp guy I knew it was only a matter of time before the Americans went against that practice. All 15 websites disappeared without a trace for recording women with camera's as they walked down the street. The problem was simple, the woman is the subject of the entire video does she know she is being recorded, does she want her body to be viewed by millions ?
Your saying because people are in the public you can take their pictures is no better than the alaba man who pirates DVD's they say well I bought the DVD I can do what I want with it.

Or men who rape women without their consent. Consent means you are not thinking about yourself alone and the other party wants to participate in the same activity as you.

Most of the BRT buses have broken down along the BRT corridors.

LASG, in trying to cut corners against what was budgeted, went to get mass-produced Indian-make buses.

And in less than a year, most have broken down

Lagos is overcrowded by every Tom, Dick and Harry. All the effort of the state govt are not been felt because of the choking emigrants. Let this lady go back to her village and other emigrants like her so that the true Lagosians can enjoy their city in peace.
Your re right!

Also We need to tell lagos state government to suspend the magacity plan. And also chase away all immigrants that are not yorubas.

Let lagos state govt descend the state back to old lagos, because they are too much people in lagos.
