What settings does the IDU/ODU need in just using the default setting installer did nothing changed and im using the ZLT W154R IDU ,would appreciate if theres anything i can do to increase d signal strenght
Find a way to shift the IDU closer to the place where there's an obstruction (wall). It should reduce signal loss. You can also use a wifi extender instead.

Check the transmission power of the 2 wifi signals and be sure they're at 100

Is this the IDU that comes with X17M or X17U?

Some of the IDUs have this option where you select maximum/long range transmission, which does what the name says but ultimately consumes more power. You should check to see if you can find that.

Some also have the option of turning off the 2.4Ghz. Check if this too and turn it on if off. That way you can try to get your pc to connect to 2.4Ghz, which covers longer distance.

Yes, it only works well in the middle of the night, from about 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. After that, it slows down. I have relocated the position, but the issue remains the same. I also changed the antenna to a directional one and pointed it toward the tower. Unfortunately, I bought this device. I can’t use it for online gaming during the day, and even at midnight the ping sometimes becomes very low and skips.

airtel needs to find a solution to their unstable network. i have never gone 24hrs without complaining and it's even worse this morning.

I use the 5G router, so I do not experience this.

A lot of complaints about their outdoor units.

I have a 5G router as well, but I stopped using it. I didn’t have any issues with it because it wasn’t capped at 50 Mbps. However, this ODU has been a real pain. If MTN had extended their infrastructure to my estate, I don’t think I would continue using this ODU. The only time it performs reasonably well is at night when downloading. Indians no dey like spend
Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by Nollie254: 2:31pm On Mar 12
My thinking on airtel network issue is they're suffering from congestion they've marketed their 5g devices well and a lot of forks have bought them but they don't have the capacity for the surging numbers normally this originates from two points their back haul capacity which they can fix by allocating more bandwidth to particular base stations and two base stations congestion where the number of people in a particular area exceed that which the base station can handle so instead of fully utilising carrier aggregation they force the base station to allow connections to less band per person allocating the remainder to the excess numbers with limited speeds so they have to either increase their PCL on a base station or build an entire one from scratch

Good Morning House,
Please am I the only person experiencing network downtime on this ODU device?
Are there solutions to this network problem? It will work well a day and the next two days will be a disaster.
I am tired.

Contact Airtel on X. Tell them it's a general issue with your location.

Alternatively try the band lock and unlock thing..

looks like a general issue, anything from 11 am till 9 pm, the network is always slow.

One question. I don’t know if anyone here has tried it before. Assuming one’s subscription is to end in the next 10 days for Airtel unlimited and one has exhausted the 1tb and speed is already throttled. What will happen if one pays for subscription now? Which of these scenario will like happen?
1. Subscription will be active, data speed will be back to normal and expiration will be next 40 days
2. Subscription will be active, data speed still throttled but will be back to normal after 10 days of the initial subscription

I need to know if I should wait till the data expires or just do another subscription on it cos normally I always wait till the sub expire before doing another sub whenever I exceed the 1tb FUP
Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by pheranme9(op): 12:50pm On Mar 13
From someone's review the speed will still be slow even if you renew or get another sub. I remember the person telling he had 2 different unlimited sim when one throttle he switches to the next one

You’re incorrect. I’ve done it over 10 times since inception of Airtel unlimited. Once you exceed your 1tb and allow the sub to expire. Any sub you do subsequently will bring the speed back to normal. Airtel is very deceptive that is why I didn’t do those 3 month sub which is cheaper than doing it monthly because I don’t know what will happen if I use the 1tb before one month. Will my data be throttled for the remainder of the 3 months? One has to be extremely careful when it comes to Airtel

The ODU sub doesn't have more than one month sub. You may be talking about the normal 20mbs sub of old.

I stand to be corrected.
Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by Betnomore: 1:45pm On Mar 13
Regarding the 3 month sub, yes I’m talking about the old router 20mbs sub. But my initial question still stands. What will happen if one renew a ODU subscription after exceeding the 1tb FUP before expiry date

He already gave you the correct answer, but you countered him. Your speed will be throttled till the old sub expires before the new one kicks in, which is already minus 10 days into the new sub. So the best option is to wait.

I have used the 3.....in terms of raw speed, the ZTE edges the rest(it's performance noticeably improves and become apparent after a restart). In terms of online responsiveness and ping, the Huawei is the best. If you play online games alot, go for the Huawei. It has the best ping.
You must also understand that the gaming latency and ping is dependent on alot of factors e.g network quality, closeness to server etc. So I won't put my entire decision based on latency alone.
Infact interms of gaming I prefer MTN. The network serves me better in my location
That ZTE restart speed boost is so true. Is there any way to sustain that?

You are very right. Unfortunately, I was given the ZTE router and I am unable to play FC26 online. It is not playable at all, and I don’t think I’m interested in doing a separate subscription just for online gaming. I just don’t know what to do about the issue. The 5G router was not like this though. Please, do you have any recommendation on how to improve gaming with the ZTE router?

Curious to know if anyone has tried subbing that 20mbs recently and seeing how it performs.

Airtel has been fine in my location for the past few weeks but they have visited me with the bad network everyone has been complaining about recently today. It's frustrating to say the least.

Or airtel is purposely throttling down subsribers on unlimited data plan because it is common knowledge that when subscribed to capped data plans on airtel, one hardly ever has to deal with any form of network issues, only happens when subscribed to unlimited plans.

Honestly thinking same thing and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case cause the normal capped data plans browses at optimum speed 99% of the time but once it comes to unlimited that's not the case

I think they are trying to limit the number of GB we would be able to use
