Don’t be surprised if electricity supply suddenly “improves” in the coming days. Not because the government fixed anything, not because new generation capacity came online, and definitely not because of some brilliant policy intervention.

Most likely, nothing was wrong with the power generation system ab initio. The darkness simply created the perfect crisis, one that can now be theatrically “solved.”

Once the lights come back, the propaganda engine will kick into full gear, the data boys will flood the internet with graphs and statistics, and the gullible will be convinced they just witnessed the miracle of competent governance, courtesy of a government that still seems utterly clueless about actually fixing anything.

What are the plans Tinubu has? The power minister can't be telling Nigerians to have faith in plans that he himself cannot elucidate. He is the worst performing minister in Tinubu's government and that's saying something.

Raji Fashola was Tinubu's choice in 2015 to provide constant electricity.
After 8 years, no electricity.
Tinubu chose Adedibu, after three years, no light. Things got worse.
Tinubu's promise now to provide power is election talk. No substance .

Is the failure to provide adequate power more important than his failure to crash petrol price and dollar rate as promised?

In any case, Pẹnkẹlẹmẹs already said that 150 million Nigerians are enjoying adequate electricity since December 2015, which is the six months after Nigerians followed Fashola’s advice to vote out PDP prosperity and replace them with APC extreme poverty shege.

Electricity in Nigeria is mainly plaqued by enemies within ie staff and electricians who bypass.

Everybody needs to be moved onto electricity meters and reconciliation staff need to be employed to match electricity used to that paid for.

Staff need a decent living wage commensurate to their responsibilities.

Both monetary penalties to customers and custodial sentences for staff should be used to curtail stealing of electricity.

You can imagine a friend of mine came back from Togo to my village for a family burial and was planning to stay for like one week.

Two days after his arrival from Togo to Nigeria he was like how are you people surviving without light??
