If not for the outrage and planned protests, they would have used the Iran war as an excuse to keep the price at N2,000+ by now. If you like keep explaining and defending rubbish because of tribe and partisan politics. Nigeria produces about 1.6 million barrels of oil daily. It costs them little to nothing. The oil companies pay for the expenses of drilling, and take about 40% of the oil as compensation according to the agreement. Either party can do whatever they want with their share of the oil. |

Thank God things are gradually easing out after the initial hike due majorly to speculation because of Israel and America/Iran war. |

Nigeria sef. Same pattern, add 300 to existing price then reduce again by 100naira. At the end of the day price is pegged at 1000. Both increment and reduction successfully achieved. Transporters maintains price hike, no reduction whatsoever. |

givedemwotowoto:They actually can not "keep the price at N2,000+ by now" , because at a certain point price increases will destroy sales volume, and the need for cash will make sellers reduce price. It would be different if the sellers were a monopoly or a cabal of course, but then there's always smugglers. Oh! And because you mention tribe. Vote for Obi! |

Islie:According to OilPrice.com, Brent crude prices recorded a sharp reversal on Tuesday, falling by nearly 27 per cent from the previous day’s high of $119 per barrel to about $87 per barrel. Whoa! That was indeed a sharp drop from $119 to $87 on Tuesday this week... ALL based on purely speculative trading. |

If there was no Dangote,NNPC without refinery and depending on imported pms would never have reduced their prices! If we had more refineries, the prices would have drastically reduced!. Despite the PIA laws cutting out bureaucracies in accessing license, there still exist more stumbling blocks in accessing crude! It's as if NNPC in collabo with the NMDPRA have sworn never to ensure that refineries are never fixed or built! And what is the input of the self acclaimed minister of petroleum? The less said about that one the better 😁😁 |
| Re: NNPC Cuts Petrol Price By N100 In Lagos, N95 In Abuja by Sirleo05: 4:34pm On Mar 12 |
I fear these new prising of above a thousand have come to stay somehow. By the way, why can't gov sell oil to refineries at a lower price, lower than international price? So that in turn, dangote and Co can sell at a lower price to Nigerians. Na we get oil , shey anybody dey to tell us how and what to do with it ? |
| Re: NNPC Cuts Petrol Price By N100 In Lagos, N95 In Abuja by lawani(m): 4:47pm On Mar 12 |
AlphaTaikun:I don't think it is speculative trading. It must be Russian crude being allowed into the market |
| Re: NNPC Cuts Petrol Price By N100 In Lagos, N95 In Abuja by lawani(m): 4:49pm On Mar 12 |
Sirleo05:It is better to forget about anything subsidy. All the countries without oil are doing better than Nigeria. Agbojulogun o fi Ara e fun osi ta! |

| Re: NNPC Cuts Petrol Price By N100 In Lagos, N95 In Abuja by fineboynl(m): 5:16pm On Mar 12 |
If Nigeria is a oil producing country. What business does the government have with Iran war? The government is even making more money from the oil they are selling. So domestic oil and refining shouldn't follow international pricing. |
