Why Nigerians are so overwhelmed, so passionate about the war and countries that quite frankly, if it was the opposite (Nigeria at war or in conflict) will not give a thought about us.

We have our own formidable challenges with security or the lack of it. Violence and deaths that match those going on in Iran or Lebanon (just tally the figures this year alone) and an economic state that resembles one on a war footing.

Yet little mention about all that, little concern, little angst, little rhetoric and the air that everything is alright. It just goes to show that we as a people just cannot rise beyond where we are and there is scant hope that country will get significantly better than it is.

It is true that a nation indeed cannot get better than the mentality of the sum average of it's citizens.

When you go through the comments on twitter by Iranians, you see them saying Ali Ayatollah was a murderer , he was never a spiritual leader. They are even afraid of Islamophobia. Many had to flee Iran for there own safety. He never allowed a Sunni Muslim a political position in the country. His regime have banned protests and the punishment is normally death. Yet Nigerians especially Muslims here think he is a good leader .
