For me i think this music thing has evolve, there was a time when the music industry in nigeria was dominated by artist from the south south, especialy from delta, people like, daddy showkey, baba frayo, blacky, oriz wiliki, mike okri, just to mention a few, even during the time of konto, and galala, south south dominated.
But now the yorubas dominate afrobeat while the igbos domiinate nollywood,

all those you listed might have orunginatd from where you said but most were born and bread in Lagos.. Plus they had comtemporaries thar were much more successful than them in Lagos then.

Even Yoruba films are not classified as Nollywood but called Yoruba Nollywood is either an ibo film in ibo language or an English film. Kunle Afolayon is a Nollywood director because he does it in English. Have you heard of Kannywood ? There is no such thing as Ibo Nollywood since Nollywood is largely ibo from producers, directors, actors and actresses

Nollywood started as English and remains majorly English.

If your music is sweet and sound nice to hear and to dance to ..one can break in quickly into the music industry immediately.. musicians like P square from Anambra state, 2face from Benue state made wave and quickly became famous in the music industry even in Lagos and they are not Yorubas.
So it's depends on the music you sing..whether it is sweet
