The end of the year is always a Santa rally, which is always bullish; however, the election period might make the market bearish. Niiade: |

Niiade:Timing the market isn't easy and straightforward We have elections next year and macroeconomic reform is what BAT wants to use as a catch for income earners I see the capital market doing better than last year |

richgang:The bitter truth is you should pray to see red days because money is made in the zig zag movement of price action in the market. Red days is essential otherwise, even your barber and shoe maker will all be investing in stocks/equities untill it becomes a bubble and burst in the most violent way, so red days are good days indirectly. Now to your question: The reason why the market is 25% - 30% up is because institutional money entered the market last month, so if you have pension fund somewhere, chances are managers of that pension fund bought stocks last month. Now if those conservatives pension guys bought stocks, ask yourself; why should I be scared to invest now if the most conservative investors in the country are the once providing liquidity to the market? Institutional money only made the market stronger and a sign of more green days in the future, this current red which is not red enough for my liking (because it's mere profit taking and not real correction) is a blessing for people looking to enter now or any time the market turns red again. |

welzyj2:I truly know how hard it is o, I am gauaging for an estimate and please any input or insight if you find any time to clock in heavily please I would love such input if it comes, the election is going to being unpredictable swings which I am very weary about but funds will be liquidated to find these election as I predict it would be the most expensive elections ever in Nigeria. I don't see the capital market doing better than last year because after reviewing a lot of these stock their valuation is way to much except the top blue chip companies and the only reason they have large value is because of the exchange rate and if the rates go lower it reduces the value thrown into stocks. A lot of penny stock are overvalued. |

Ogborokiri:Naaah. From my observation, the two seem to be more stable and solid. Although this is based on my Equity portfolio or investments within the fund manager I am into, I may not be able to speak for others I am presently not into. |
| Re: Equity Investment. by truthbetold22: 6:52am On Mar 14 |
Ogborokiri:It is important that we wait till the funds update before speculating. Yes, cardinal Stone turned a profit yesterday, Stanbic equity turned a Tiny profit but Zedcrest lost. I lost 7,000 Naira on Zedcrest. Sometimes, people just look at the total balance which takes time to change, they do not bother to click portfolio, investment, mutual funds to check the actual amount. Zedcrest gained day before yesterday and lost yesterday. I am beginning to think all this ytd are fraudulent. Your ytd cannot increase and you are recording losses. As with everything nigeria, there will always be some level of fraud. Zedcrest made a loss yesterday. I am not even sure why. |
| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 7:21am On Mar 14 |
CS does update YTD on the app, and you can see the actual % of the gain or losses. Yesterday was a 1.53 gain. Paramount also displays the gain or percentage losses, but it isn't accurate like CS. truthbetold22: |
| Re: Equity Investment. by truthbetold22: 7:24am On Mar 14 |
EquityM:Yes, I noticed CS gained around 1.5%. I monitor them daily. Once I recoup my loses from Zedcrest; I ll exit it and stick with cardinal stone. Transparency is much more important to me than profit. Zedcrest ytd rose yesterday but there was a loss. So how do we justify that? |
| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 7:48am On Mar 14 |
Well, let's hear what Zedcrest subscribers will say about this issue. truthbetold22: |
| Re: Equity Investment. by truthbetold22: 8:17am On Mar 14 |
EquityM:I am also curious if there is anyone who has seen a 50% increase in value since January 1st on the Zedcrest equity funds. Maybe other subscribers will let us know. |
| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 8:21am On Mar 14 |
truthbetold22:This is interesting to know For CS the YTD and cash increases is justifiable. I can attest to this |
| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 8:28am On Mar 14 |
Niiade:We also have good stocks that are still undervalued. Take for instance Oando- shares should be over 100naira but still struggling to maintain 50 Some bank stocks are also undervalued currently |
| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 8:33am On Mar 14 |
Niiade:We will have another 4 years of capital market growth and expansion. Money market will experience a decrease as inflation will ease off year on year |
