But...while the USA may have made more efforts than Europe (while the middle East has done almost nothing) to confront the demons of the past - it is still incredibly naive to say that some 'eternal alliance' (whatever that means) exists.

Black Africans keep making the same mistake over and over again - we never approach these relationships with our long term interests in mind. We always pick a side in a fight that isn't ours and we always blow out in a spectacular manner. Always.

The fact that Arabs and Europeans enslaved black Africans for hundreds of years should have taught us by now to be extremely cautious in dealing with them but some of us haven't learned this vital lesson.

I have no dog in this fight. It isn't my war.

Having said that, the AU has condemned the US/Israeli invasion. The position of the UN is also clear on the illegality of both the US/Israeli invasion as well as Iran's retaliatory strikes on its Gulf neighbours.

My earlier posts should have made my position clear. The wise thing to do is approach relationships with (both East and West) extremely cautiously - with long term strategic interests in mind. Not this 'eternal alliance' business with the USA and Israel. As far as I am aware, neither Israel nor the USA has ever described relationships with any black African country as a 'forever alliance'.

Whom God has blessed no one can curse. You dey hear oooo sheikh bashir aliyu.
