"On June 19, 1962, I was moved from Ikenne to Lekki. The journey to Lekki was an experience in itself. Lekki was a remote, waterlogged village, almost cut off from the rest of the world. To get there, one had to travel by canoe through mosquito-infested marshes.

The government’s intention was clear: to isolate me and make it as difficult as possible for my supporters to reach me. They chose a place that was physically taxing and geographically secluded.

However, the spirit of the people could not be broken. Despite the treacherous waters and the distance, hundreds of my supporters—men and women—found their way to Lekki. They came in canoes, often singing party songs that echoed across the lagoons. Their presence was a source of great strength to me during those sixteen days of restriction.

The bungalow where I was kept was modest, and the environment was harsh, but it provided a period of intense reflection. I spent my time reading, writing, and contemplating the future of our great nation. It was in these quiet, difficult moments at Lekki that my resolve to serve Nigeria was further tempered."

Ok.
So the borehole pump must be bringing in clayey water.
And with time, the clay has settled at the bottom of the tank.
Just filter and boil the water before drinking.
-
It will be extremely dumb to drink the water straight away without any treatment.

Re: Things Found While Washing A Water Tank In Lekki, Lagos by wunmi590(m): 12:56pm On Mar 17
huh

It is as a result of accumulated long overdue water cleaning chemicals such as alum and chlorine, which is mostly used in that part of area to clean their water before use..

For people who live in that area, it is always advisable to clean your water tank like one in 2 month, if you are using water cleaning chemicals..

But if you are not using chemicals, it is advisable to wash your tank like 3 times a year...

Most people are literally drinking their sewage water in Lekki. Central sewage and treatment plant would’ve been appropriate for a place Like Lekki cos the water table is quite shallow.

That's not Dirt but raw Salt.....

Beside, Who drink from water tank connected bore hole? Nobody does that and I regard that information as content.

Even if you must drink from such, it's going to be treated first by installing filter beside it.

That's more of a show off than the actual thing and I think a bit of laziness. Your tank is on the ground and you can't be cleaning it every month or 2 months interval.

Even people that have their tank over head used to open the free flow flap while pumping to flush out dirts and debris.

That dirts if actually is Lekki is salt. Lekki water is salty water. If you are living in Lekki and you are still buying salt, then you are wasting money 🤑.... 😂....

Lekki water is salt.....
