1,300 Per Litre: Tinubu Saved Nigeria From Global Fuel Crisis, Says Uzodimma by adenigga(op): 6:12pm On Mar 14
Despite the fact that the pump price of fuel has hit nearly double, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State says President Bola Tinubu has shielded Nigeria from global fuel crisis as a result of the conflict in the Middle East.

Prices of fuel hit roof top globally after the barricade at Strait of Hormuz, a vital 30-mile-wide shipping lane between Iran and Oman.

It connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and the open ocean. As a critical global oil chokepoint, roughly 20% of the world’s total liquid petroleum consumption passes through it daily.

However, after Israel and US launched a war on Iran, the Middle East country fought back, blocking vessels from the lane.

But when members of the City Boy Movement visited him at the Government House, Owerri, this weekend, Uzodimma said Tinubu’s reforms prevented scarcity and domestic fuel price hikes, in spite the Middle East crisis.

He said that in spite of the ongoing war in the Middle East, the naira remained stable at N1,240, while other African currencies faced significant volatility.

“Nigeria was almost at a decaying level when the President assumed office in 2023.

“In spite the speculative tension in the Middle East, occasioned by the crisis in Iran, the prices of fuel would have gone up but in the African continent, Nigerian naira remains stable.

“The exchange rate of U.S. Dollar and South Africa has gone up but in Nigeria, our exchange rate remains stable at N1,240 because we no longer fund subsidy,” Uzodimma said.

He hailed the subsidy removal for stabilising the exchange rate and allowing the Dangote Refinery to purchase crude in naira.

He emphasised that the global community now recognised Nigeria’s recovery, calling for a united front to sustain the new development trajectory.

Addressing a delegation of the movement, led by its Patron, Mr Seyi Tinubu, and Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, the governor described their visit as “home coming”.

He described the initiative as a “new mentality” designed to prepare young Nigerians for future leadership.

He commended them for supporting and providing charity to the sick and vulnerable in hospitals.

The governor highlighted the South-East region’s improved infrastructure and political peace.

He urged the delegation to act as “Renewed Hope” ambassadors, ensuring that Tinubu’s achievements resonate in every grassroots and urban centers.

Uzodimma, therefore, promised full support to the youth movement.

Earlier, Olawande commended Uzodimma for supporting the movement, the Renewed Hope Initiative and youth programmes in the state.

He sought continued backing for youth initiatives, aligning with the movement’s goals.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the movement would, on Saturday, empower 7,000 youths in the South-East as a symbolic gesture of its visit to the region. (NAN)

Tinubu did absolutely nothing; Alhaji Aliko Dangote singlehandedly saved this country. If not for Dangote, these importers would be roasting our balls by now using the war as an excuse.

The APC must be a congregation of the most wicked and heartless individuals imaginable. In fact, this level of hero worship is almost unprecedented.

Imagine APC and their hoardes of supporters praising Tinubu for supposedly “shielding Nigeria from the global fuel crisis,” yet conveniently forgetting that he presided over the jump in fuel prices from under N200 per litre to over N1,000.

You are obviously clueless as to how real market economy works.
Tinubu did 2 things that contributed to rhe Dangote success.
First, he created the business friendly environment that investor friendly. He created the free trade zone where the refinery is located when he was Governor.
Now as a president, he removed the subsidy which invigorated Dangote to fasten the completion of the refinery.
The subsidy removal has galvanized many other investors to get into the refinery business.
If it had not been removed, investing in refinery business would have been very risky because you will be competing with free government money. You cannot beat any govt because they have unlimited funds( might be loans) but they have more capacity than Dangote.
All in all, Tinubu has a kot to do with the refinery. The man has foresight and that's what has been missing from Nigerian previous Presidents.

We are producing oil. What is stopping the govt from selling crude in Naira to Dangote? Why should we be suffering inflated international price when we are an oil producing country?

Most of you don't read and know what's really going on in your country.
You just enjoy complaining and spreading rumors.
Oil is traded in international market in dollars.
A lot of the oil being produced now have already been sold or allocated to pay for loans taken years ago.
Also, the oil companies are also entitled to certain portions of whatever they produced.
So Tinubu cannot just say that we must sell to Dangote cheap and forgo previous agreements.
It's more complicated than just waking up and tell them to sell to Dangote cheap.

Agbadorians are terrible people. When it's convenient for them, they claim that Tinubu removed the fuel subsidy.

But when the heat becomes too much, they put the blame on Buhari.

Oga, Buhari, not Escobar, singlehandedly removed the fuel subsidy.

This is biggest mystery I can't fathom my brother. And no one has been able to explain it to me:

1) DANGOTE MAKES MORE FUEL THAN NIGERIA CONSUMES!!!
2) NIGERIA CAN SUPPLY ALL THE CRUDE DANGOTE REFINERY NEEDS!!

So, what's our business with global oil prices??

The budget that was passed while Buhari was President removed subsidy.
Tinubu could have easily directed the law makers to change that law and reinstate the subsidy especially with the level of cacophony that came with that announcement. But he did not given in because he has a vision and knows that it will be hard but it's rhe best way forward.

Why do we always resort to sycophancy at every opportunity? It is unhealthy for our democracy. When leaders are constantly praised without accountability, we gradually create tyrants and isolate them from the real feelings of the citizens.

To Governor Hope Uzodimma: what exactly has President Bola Ahmed Tinubu done to make petrol prices stable in this current situation? From the perspective of ordinary citizens, there are no visible or decisive steps from either the federal or state governments. The leadership appears bereft of practical solutions to address the rising cost of petrol.

One obvious step would be for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited to sell crude directly to the Dangote Refinery at a transparent fixed market price, eliminating the layers of middlemen that complicate the process and inflate costs.

Also, the president must empower the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, and the Nigeria Police Force to genuinely fight corruption. Nigeria cannot move forward if these institutions are perceived as lukewarm or focused on pursuing political dissidents instead of tackling real corruption.

The government must understand that Nigerians actually want it to succeed—because if it succeeds, the lives of the people will be better for it.

Supreme court governor has gone mad again. How did Tinubu cushion high fuel price which is the spilling effect of the Iranian/US Israel war?
Re: 1,300 Per Litre: Tinubu Saved Nigeria From Global Fuel Crisis, Says Uzodimma by Kobojunkie: 7:48pm On Mar 14
$1 is currently equal to Naria 1,385.84
Naira 1300 per litre is literally $3.55 per gallon of fuel. So, Tinubu saved Nigeria from a global crisis by having Nigerians pay more at the pump than people in many parts of the United States pay? Make una dey enjoy una paradise! 🤐🤐🤐

We remember that PDP licensed the private refinery after APC and their labour union communist friends frustrated the 2007 sale of NNPC refineries.

Dangote refinery was licensed as part of the 2012 fuel sector deregulation and subsidy removal scheme, which APC played politics with, led by Buhari's god of men 2011 running mate- Tunde Bakare.
