A chaotic scene was captured at an APC "City Boy Movement" empowerment event in Owerri, Imo State. What began as an orderly gathering quickly turned into a near-stampede as participants surged toward distribution points for palliatives, food items, and goodie bags.

The video shows people pushing, shoving, and climbing over each other, with some trying to snatch multiple items at once. Organizers and security appeared overwhelmed, with some retreating as the crowd pressed forward. Bodies jostled amid shouting and flying items, creating total mayhem.

High-profile coordinators included Pascal Okechukwu (aka Cubana Chief Priest), Imo State Director/Coordinator, and Obinna Iyiegbu (aka Obi Cubana), South-East Zonal Director. Both are well-known businessmen and socialites aligned with the movement. The event was framed as APC-supported, with the governor urging youth to champion a "new Nigeria."

Salty tears. Is the South no longer in the bag? Where will Tinubu's votes now come from? Even Remi Tinubu's visit to Akwa Ibom was shambolic. We are not even in campaign season yet. As things stand today, Tinubu is only sure of the 4 Southwestern states he won in 2023 but don't worry, Cubana Chiefpriest will deliver the Southeast to Tinubu.

What are all these salty tears for? What is this tribal, divisive bigotry about?

And what exactly does Peter Obi have to do with it?

Tinubu failed spectacularly, inflicting hardship, worsening living standards, and pushing poverty to record levels. 63% poverty rate, highest in the history of this country in just within three years.

Now, months to an election, we suddenly get “City Boy Movement,” “Renewed Hope Ambassadors,” "Relax Tinubu is fixing Nigeria" and other fronts.

Instead of telling Nigerians what has actually improved in their lives, public money is poured into staged “empowerment” shows. When those poorly organized events descend into chaos, and because it happened in the south east, you invent enemies and start chanting: “Peter Obi this, Peter Obi that.”
