No, it is not..
If memory serve me it started out as a comic strip attachment in soft sell mags and later daily newspapers (can't remember th exact one) in the late 70's or early 80's long before the character came to screen. Don't know the details of any copyright bounds but I cannot imagine Mr. Adenuga had not tied it up somewhere along the line.
Oh okay, I thought the character was started by him...if he didn't start the character then he will have no case.

You haven't spoken well. He made peanuts from the role. Listen to the full interview
And you believe that. A program/contract that spanned well over 10yrs and you're telling me he made peanuts. If all those years he didn't make any investment, that means he failed to put his money into good use. Don't tell me he made "peanut"

Yeah, thanks for the info.
Indeed I suspected he was not even the first.
It is a very old comic strip.

But I will say more like our own Mr. Bean, not James Bond.

Our movie industry remains very juvenile in certain aspects of our lives. With all the insecurity, banditry and insurgency you will think a production company will dedicate itself to producing action movies and script them around a star folks can identify with like Bond.

You know the 30's and 40"s spurred the creation of characters such as Captain America as a propaganda tool against the Nazis and Ian Fleming's Bond came up in the 50's and 60's as a result of his exploits in the field directed against the forces of Communism and the Iron curtain at that time.

We can make movies that propagate exploits of spies, the police, the army, even special forces against these extremists and criminals to boost the morale of our security forces and give the nation a collective air of positivity. Not everything must be a dramatic tale of love, loathe, lucre and lessons.
Papa Ajasco is our James Bond o, like James Bond multiple actors have played him.

No they were not created as Propaganda tools, the difference is that white creators create from a point of societal thinking..I do know that the American Army does invest in Hollywood . What I'm saying is Americans are more interested in America than we are in Nigeria. Nobody is going to say the witch craft element in Nollywood is propaganda by our government but it is a reflection of our society. The Captain America thing was not really Propaganda but a creation to feel a void. We sometimes view propaganda in things that are not actually propaganda. It's like the Americans vs Indians was never propaganda, it was simply telling a semi non fictional story to children and Adults through comics.

Some people even go as far as saying the Old Testament is Propaganda for the Jews.

Alot of people don't really read the bible with her heads, in so many instances the same God said he would lead them into captivity and said he will send their enemies to make them slaves. Some people say the Bible was written for Jews alone but it is simply a story of God's Dealings with mankind. The bible starts with Adam who was not a Jew. Judaism started with Abraham and Moses made it public to the Jewish descendants of Abraham who were in bondage for 400 years in Egypt. Noah was not a Jew and he saved the world from the flood which close to 30 different religions say occured and scientist say there was once a flood that reached up to mountain tops.

Must be used the name?
Did Omotola, Genevieve and Pete Edochie use the names in the cast who made them famous today?

He could easily have been acting in Nollywood in fatherly , oba and king roles , but he chose to stay with Wale Adneuga productions only.

If there's anyway I can get to help too.

Papa Ajasco made my childhood fun, I remember how me, my parents and siblings don't miss papa Ajasco drama in the 90's and early 2000's.

Both Papa Ajaso, Pa James and Boy Alinco were fun to watch.

You are wrong, the dead one is the second Papa Ajasco, while the one that is being interviewed is the first.

Name that existed before he even started acting. I'm disappointed in this unnecessary information he is throwing out there. They went to school. There is nothing wrong in what WAP did in registering the brand. Pa James has never come out to complain about his character, he acts movies but not with the Pa James character. Akpan and Oduma do skits but not as Akpan and Oduma outside WAP, so what is this complaint all about? I feel disgusted seeing this.

Nigerians failed to learn plagiarism, that's why they copy and use people's materials in the name of blogs and videos.

They forge certificates, that's why the electoral act wants to remove forgery as an election issue.

They take people's identity, that's why someone could use Donald Duke's picture as his own.

Now they want to take someone else's work. Those are all different forms of THEFT, the action or crime of stealing.
Some people lacking simple comprehension or maybe they just feel they can compose very well and when they venture into any opportunity they spur all sorts of things even if they are writing out of points they don't care.

He should go to court. The character is his, portrayed by him. Wale Adenuga can not hold that right perpetually. He should be able to earn from his craft, logically, and logic is part of law.
What are you even saying? The name Papa Ajasco was coined by Wale Adenuga. The character he played was a contract character and the name and personality of that character was all owned by Wale Adenuga. You should have said Wale should give him all his studio and production bc he played a character whose story was written by Wale. Make una Dey get sense o

Nobody took advantage of him, he simply refuse to grow.

“Super story” and all the characters that acted it just like “this life”, “Nneka and friends”, “Binta and friends”, etc are all productions of Wale Adenuga, written and produced by Wale Adenuga. No one can claim anything from how successful the character he or she acted on because they were all duly paid for the contract duration they signed. For this man coming out to say he can’t use the name “Papa Ajasco” shows he knows nothing. Is he the invention of papa Ajasco? No. It’s Wale. Did he contribute in the story writing and production? No. He is just an actor who was Paut for every episode he acted. You people should be using your head o.

Addition: Wale Adenuga is a plateform for new actors and actresses to start a carrier. If you are lucky to be used, they are simply giving you a plateform to start your carrier. That’s why they have a training school for acting and directing, most of their student were futured on their series. So no matter how little they gives you it’s just to encourage. Most super star today started with Wale Production. It’s only a stagnant person that will stick to only what Wale Adenuga pay you for a character you acted in any of their series. Bc it’s just a plateform to kick start your carrier. It showcases your to Nollywood producers and to the general public. Infact, most series don’t pay much unless they are using an “Already made star”. Series mostly use new actors and actresses. They are platforms to begin your acting carrier. So why will this man refuse to break through Nollywood or even Yoruba movies but instead stick to a series that don’t pay much. Nollywood movies pay higher compare to series

You just display how dull you are. Ok it started with him Abi. Now answer this question. Was he the one that coined the name “Papa Ajasco”? Did he pertake in writing the series or part of the production?

Do you mean if a company start with you, you are now part of the company in shares and claims?

WAP has right to trademark their inventions, just like Spiderman trademarks doesn't belong to the actors

Most time, script and character development are ready and actor just come in to portray them.

Mmm.

You haven't told us what you did with all the money you made from the comedy series, "Papa Ajasco". Na you let fame enter your head then you lose guard your finances, thinking everything lasts forever
And i hope all the peanut money yu have been paid all this while. you have built an entire state from it. This same question you will be asked by other people later. he is telling you that he was paid peanut you are here ranting what did he do with all the money. Anyway, it is still his fault; he should have hustled harder and gone into another craft in the industry or elsewhere. Something goes to everyone doing 9-5. You all are gonna learn. People will use this thing against you all in the future if you continue putting your future in the hands of one man, whom you call the employer of labour. The ones i pity the most are teachers. And you all now see the reason why all our doctors are looking for a way to Japa. The truth is, it is all about you and your family. forget your employer or anyone else. Do what's best for you and your family and your future.

yes reason why school is never a scam.

He was the character. A case like this was brought to court in America between an artiste and record label, and a judge declared the artiste have the rights to use the songs which is the artiste craft...this was between Ashanti and murder Inc I think. He being the character can share the right to use and portray it with WAP.
You are very wrong in your assertion.

There definitely must have been times when he was in money in some ways, what did he do with it ?

its like daniel craig coming out to say he hasnt been allowed to use the James Bond name for his personal use, you were hired and paid for a role, i dont know were the entitlement is coming from except of course if Papa Ajasco was his creation and WAP stole it from him

Pa James had severally used Pajames outside WAP etc.

It's pathetic but there is a way around it. What I see a little bit of ignorance and others issues he is not able to lay bare.

He can cleverly use similar names without infringing the registered Papa Ajasco. This will have same profit potential as the registered brand.

People have done thing in advanced countries and even in Nigeria.
