A troubling video circulating online shows medical workers attending to a patient in near darkness at a hospital in Suleja, Niger State.

In the footage, believed to have been recorded during a power outage, nurses and other medical staff are seen using phone flashlights and torchlights to illuminate the ward while working around a patient on a hospital bed.

The shaky video captures the difficult conditions inside the dimly lit treatment area, as the workers try to carry out their duties with very little visibility.

Voices speaking Hausa can be heard in the background, though it is not clearly understood what is being said.

The clip has generated reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern about the challenges facing some public healthcare facilities.

don't mind the guy must of them always comment in the name of I have commented, that is one of Niger state general hospitals located in suleja. The state governor hardly even stay in the state for 48 hours always good at traveling. When the people living in minna the state capital protested against poor power supply. The unfortunate governor was telling them to go and install solar as if everyone can afford solar .

This is really shameful.

what's now the essence of removing fuel subsidy then? After all we were told that once subsidy is removed, there will be enough money to fix infrastructure undecided

Once again shame on the governor of niger state.

How can a reasonable person campaign for this government? Tell me one dividend of democracy we are enjoying with this government that will make me vote it again. I'm so sad to see some elders that suppose to be a beacon of progress selling their rights for a pot of porridge. Nobody can tell the truth or say the right things. They have all being silent with money. Masses are as well collecting token at the expense of their well being. Tinubu is not doing well at all.

Yet the Oluwole president and his supporters believe coastal road of over 15 trillion is more important than using the same 15 trillion to fix power supply, it is well...

It surprises me when tinubu goes abroad looking for foreign investors. Like you don't have common electricity and you are looking for people to set up factories in your country

Why are we Nigerian so wicked to ourselves? What happened to the budget assigned to running the hospital? What happened to all the money the hospital management get from the patient they treated? Why can't the management of the hospital put the money into used as part of maintenance for the hospital? All the names that they wants to drive the latest cars, live in the latest building, divert the money for personal use!.

They have forgotten that they will visit the hospital whenever they fall sick.

Why can't they install solar to that place.

it's very unfortunate seriously.

In a working country, this should trigger an investigation by the house of assembly.

The hospital management will be invited to understand why they aren't able to afford alternative energy like generators or solar panel systems. They will explain exactly the cost of maintaining such operations and why they can’t afford it.

Standards Organization and Ministry of Health will be invited to understand if they have standards and operating procedures for healthcare organizations that was missed or needs to be followed here.

Power ministry will be invited to understand what steps they have taken to improve power supply

By the time the investigation is over, Nigerians will understand exactly what is happening in the system.

But it's not everything we'll call government for. Hospital bills are not cheap! So why can't they install solar setup - even if just for bulbs and fan.

Patient care mehn. Let's not justify poor standards. Patient care is a business.

The hospital has an administrator, and that person should be fired if they're not strategic enough to route IGR into bettering the facilities.
Everytime y'all will try to exenorate government and start mentioning solar.

Sometimes, I wonder what are the main functions of the hospital management. Well, I don't blame them. Some of the stolen money - some of them use it to build private hospitals and they will referred patients to go there for proper treatment.

Tinubu himself said that nobody should vote him in 2027 if there's no steady power in the country

All these chants for solar energy by the South west now amazes me, we can't continue to excuse bad government

Ordinarily our neighbors here in Africa can boast of steady power, it should be a shame to Nigeria

Look at a hospital in 2026
no wonder Buhari died in London
Tinubu should know that nobody lives forever
