Good day guys. Please I need help.

I've entered the preliminary review stage. I applied August last year.

Got a mail saying that the Formal obligation letter I uploaded when i first applied will not be Valid at the time of my application. My brother who lives in Germany got another letter yesterday for me which I uploaded, they still said it will not be valid at the tike of my application. Please how do I resolve this? I need guidance please 🙏
Your brother has to process another letter of declaration, the letter is valid for only 6 months for visa purposes. So the one you uploaded last year is no longer valid for visa purposes.

He processed a new letter today 13th. Duration of obligation on the new letter starts 1st of May, Is that the reason they're rejecting the new letter I uploaded?

I think what they mean is that 1st of may is too far cause your your visa is likely to be approved/processed before then given the time frame for processing and the start date should be closer like a day in March (this month)

Thanks for this info. Is there a way to contact the embassy, especially via email to really confirm this. At least my bro wants me to do that and not just duel on assumptions. I'd really appreciate any info on how to do that

Let me break the silence here with some good news.

Decision was made on Friday, I received my documents yesterday and my visa was approved. I wish everyone else a speedy approval.

Thank you all for your support during the long wait. See you all in Germany 🇩🇪✈️
Congratulations!

Going through the trend, I saw that you joined the waiting list in July and were able to book your interview by the second week of February.

Please let us know how you were able to resolve the issue with the birth certificate you asked about here earlier.

Also, kindly share your experience and any tips that could help others.

Thank you.

Please can I use IELTS for language proficiency if I’m applying as a laboratory technician?

IELTS is specifically for English language testing not German. There are a few approved German learning centers you can enrol, the popular one is Goethe institute. They’re in Lagos. I think they’re the only approved learning institute for German language sin Nigeria though I stand to be corrected

Are you saying I can only use German language proficiency not English ?

Yes if you’re applying for chancenkarte(opportunity card) or any other German visas

Yes if you’re applying for chancenkarte(opportunity card) or any other German visas
So English language proficiency is no longer accepted because I saw it as part of their requirements

I don't think proficiency in German is required for the OC route.

You’re right that must be a mix up from me, generally German proficiency is required for some of their visas as such the mix up.
Thanks for the correction

Hi guys,

The embassy reached out to me to make a correction on my application, add my CV and RP of my sponsor. But the portal has no space for uploading additional documents except proof of health insurance option- I had previously used the other documents option in the portal.
Should I use the space for health insurance and submit my CV and RP?
Thanks y’all.
Yes. Upload your CV and RP in the other documents section.

I’m not sure there’s any language proficiency requirement for OC visa whether English or German but you can check their website, you would find your answers

Pls I have 2 questions concerning the opportunity card application
1. I would like to know if German language certificate is part of the documents requested to be submitted
2. I wanted to apply online, but it's only Lagos that's available online while Abuja which is close to me is not available online; submission is done physically to the visa office. Please I need an advice on which to use that will grant a fast response.

Yes, very possible... Just unselect the "value added package" when trying to book insurance on Expatrio.
Please when going with a partner for opportunity card visa, does the person need to be join the waitlist? Will the dependent be able to work and get a work permit too?

I think they are picking 10 days per batch now. I might be wrong though but that is what I have observed so far from the pattern... And most likely, they are currently on August 20th... So, next batch should be the rest of August before they get into September... And it takes between 2 - 3 weeks to move from one batch to another.

I might be wrong with my observation though

For now you can't apply together with a partner, unless the person also qualifies but it must be an individual application.

Put an estimated date with 1 year duration, starting from at least 6 months from now, i.e. September 2026 to September 2027. That would make sense because you won't likely get called before then and that's even a minimum waiting period in my estimation.

Eventually you might even be asked to extend it further by the time they start your preliminary review. But for now, that September 2026 is ok.

you cant go with a partner, you have to apply individually or one person goes gets a job the other person applies for family reunion.
