Nigerian leaders' state visits to the UK.

There are many types of visits that a head of state can ubdertake and they include state visit, official visit, an official working visit, a working visit, a guest-of-government visit, or a private visit.

A state visit is the highest level of visit that a head of state can undertake. It is a full ceremonial visit.

In the United Kingdom, the monarch (King or Queen) is the host during a state visit. The visiting head of state receives the 41 gun salute by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, he also receives the royal salute (national anthems), inspects the guards and is taken to the residence (Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle) in a royal procession (the visiting head of state and his delegation ride in royal carriages).

There is also a state banquet at which toasts are proposed.

The prime minister of the UK is the host for official and working visits and these visits have less ceremony and more business-like meetings.

There have been 3 state visits to the UK by Nigerian heads of state, General Yakubu Gowon paid a state visit from June 12th to 15th 1973, President Shehu Shagari paid a state visit to the UK from March 17th to 20th, 1981 and President Ibrahim Babangida paid a state visit to the UK from May 9th to May 12th, 1989.

President Bola Tinubu begins the 4th state visit to the UK by a Nigerian head of state today.

This thread contains details of those visits.
I know for sure that, tinubu has given UK government a lot of money to organize this shiit. Nonsense and ingredients

History is one of the best subject that must be supported and taught well in schools. Without it you will continue to beat around the bush.

History has shown that the Brits has nothing to offer and these state visits are nothing but a avenue to put the slaves on check and to pass a clear message that we are still in control. Sovereign nation my foot!
How much increase in the number of history teachers employed by your state have you achieved since 1999, through advocacy efforts targeting your own state lawmaker oversight functions in the budget planning & implementation processes huh

Oh, he should stop everything and join the soldiers🙄🙄

Soldiers have their orders, if the president drop everything whenever there's a bomb, the country can't move forward, international relations is very essential to every country.

Tinubu should be sent back home ASAP to solve the shameful insecurity problems in his country.

He deserves no presidential celebration in the UK where large number of his county's productive youths have ran to for economic preservation.

I've posted all the photos. These are bonus photos.

President and Mrs Babangida held a dinner at Claridges Hotel for Queen Elizabeth. Here are photos of Princess Diana arriving the hotel for the dinner.

I find the paragraph in bold very interesting.

1. Gowon took an artefact of Benin bronze head from a Nigerian museum and gave it to the Queen of England- symptomatic of a perfect slave!

2. Shagari's regime was faced with serious hardship, just as it is today.

3. Babangida introduced SAP and Nigeria began to be ripped-off by Western interests like the world bank and IMF.

Brace up!! Because after this visit, we're probably going to be plunged into far more hardship than we have it now. Or could it actually already be happening?

Let me also leave the image below here that shows you would not have shared the image you did if you love your nation enough to do a few seconds of research rather than believe the worst about Nigeria.

What Trump purportedly said is ridiculous enough for every objective adult to suspect it of being the deliberate attempt of some to peddle disinformation against Nigeria.

My own is this; this state visit, how much will it cost the taxpayers? Is it money we have right now? I believe we can use the money in fighting insecurities all around us.
The UK are hosting the state visit, the Nigerian government doesn't pay for a state visit.

It wasn't solicited by the Nigerian government but rather is an invitation by the UK king who is the host and does it with good reasoning, it is a high honour and I can see the king giving Tinubu a knighthood or some othe sort of royal honour

Krankhead:

To be fair, Tinubu is well-regarded globally and seen as reminiscent of Lee kuan Yew who led Singapore to socio-economic glory.

I can understand Nigerians not appreciating Tinubu because they are the ones having to suffer and make sacrifices for misrule of past leaders Tinubu is trying reverse.

Tinubu, unfortunately, is getting the blame for implementing punitive but unavoidable reforms Nigeria must sacrificially commit to, as Singapore did, to become a developed nation in the next 30 to 40 years.

Yet, the fact is that a socio-economically troubled world, that include many developed nations, now look at Nigeria enviously because they know her untapped potentials to note the developmental glory that lay ahead for our Nation if a brave, resolute and innovative reformer, as Tinubu has proven to be, is given time to deliver for Nigeria.

The world is excited for us under Tinubu although they constantly demand more palliatives to cushion the punitive effect, on the masses, of vital reform being implemented which I agree with.

In the past these state visits usually took place in Central London. The royal procession usually went from Victoria Station to Buckingham Palace. In recent years the visits have been held at Windsor.
Please Sir what is the difference between Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle
