Someone here was trying to justify the war as a reason for increase in fuel price until I brought receipts. If slavery was on today, the current crop of leaders and supporters will sell us for less than a mirror's worth. They don't care if we suffer. They will tell us to look at others. When it comes to enjoying, they never tell us to look there.

Where is the UK suffering? Same man looking fresh... Afterall he is not suffering from severe heat like we are facing in Nigeria currently. Let him enjoy is UK and allow us to rest. cheesy
There's "mind suffering" in UK.
If you reach there, 1 month, you chop bread and butter.
All your wrinkled skin would smoothen out.
You start looking fresh.
Then you start facing the real sufferings: Racism, job selection, job rejections, high rent, high prices...
possibility of working 24/7 but spending all the money on bills, cold 24/7.

Dullards have come again o

1. Minimum wage is NOT NGN70,000. After allowances added, it comes to NGN110,000

2. Many Nigerians earn far more than minimum wage(bankers, telcom workers, oil company workers etc etc).
Yeah, less than 10% of Nigerian earn above 110k.

Those guys you see especially in Europe love on a budget, their lives are planned and not just spontaneous living like we do over here......a little change in price of anything will drive anxiety and affect a lot of things.

It's we nigerians that adapt easily and quickly to anything......it was only an increase in the price of bread that led to the Arab spring......you heard it right, bread!!

I don’t know why they so obsessed with diesel, and don’t tell me it’s all about one reliability crap!

Those guys are just stingy and why they love diesel.
I wonder o.

DIesel is also dirtier than petrol self.

(UK wants to phase out diesel and petrol cars though ...)

That’s the stinginess I am talking about. Trying to get every penny out of their money.

Why should I be driving a diesel sedan when I am not towing with it.
And why not a diesel? It has more torque, most are now faster than their petrol counterpart, the engine last longer etc.
Infact very soon the trend will be to use diesel cars in naija since the quality of diesel for sale by dangote is of international standards. What made Nigerians run from diesel in the past was the bad, adulterated fuel, once you put it in your tank, it messes up you nozzles, today that is not the case.
Diesel engine have higher thermal efficiency than petrol.
As you rightly said almost all those uk cars are diesel, to see petrol de hard.

LOL...

Prices of fuel have always been high in the UK. It's because most of them use public transport that they don't feel it as much. It's just gotten higher now thanks to the oil crunch.

Infact, as one of my dad's friends once stated, after buying a second hand BMW improted from Germany that looked new...most people there don't use their cars everyday like Nigerians do. They use the bus. If you are a child, you can even get on the bus for free or for subsidised rates...even students self. People go park their cars, and use am once a week...or if they have to travel a very long distance, (and some of them would use trains or airplanes).

minimum wage as the name implies is the least any worker should get aside other allowances. Don't forget, many ppu earns below minimum wage in nigeria as well

It's because we have to sell crude at OPEC prices...as part of being an OPEC member

Also, we rely on crude for most of our government income...yes, including the crude that is sold to dangote . If government reduced crude prices of crude sold to Dangote...to say 40 dollars per barrel..it would amount to government taking away money from the budget funding...which means that they would have to borrow to deal with the resulting deficit...more debt on our head.

Plus Dangote still buys a lot of crude from abroad...and the price increases are affecting them too

Finally, since big nations like Saudi are not exporting crude...there is a relative scarcity of crude. That pushes up oil prices.

(Note that I am not excusing government, just showing why crude prices are high. Why govt should or should not pay subsidy is a whole nother argument).

Minimum wage in UK is around £1500 per month and you can get up to 700 liters with that rate

This people should stop deceiving us by making us feel UK is not for the weak
So you are the only one that has right to complain because you hate tinubu......have you factored in how much they pay in taxes, rent water, gas.

My brother, UK life is very hard. 40% of your annual income go to the government, but most people don't complain because the money is being used for something meaning. The health sector in UK is subsidize 100%

SeriouslySense:
Is not just the Fuel prize. From what he is saying, another inflation has come like double inflation, first trigger was Ukraine and now second second trigger the strait of Hurmuz.

What happens when one of the major route for shipping crude oil is blocked. Most of the ships carry crude oil or refined oil to major consumers like Europe, USA and China. Crude oil is used in other industries to make pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, natural gas, and more. Without enough supply, the price goes up, and other industries are affected.

Although Saudi Arabia, has created an alternative route, but it would take a long time to build infrastructure to match demand.

Therefore we are looking at another recession. Less Jobs, more costs in general. So it is not just fuel, its food, accomodation, transportation, Medical care etc.
Don't mind those empty heads....imagine them lampooning the guy for complaining like its only obidients that have the right to complain just because they hate tinubu.......do they mean prices of things should keep going up abroad just because they feel the citizens earn more.

I hear you. See, it's a windfall. EU countries are already looking towards an alternative. Nigeria should be an alternative if and only if our governments were wise enough to make the state refineries work. The failure to let our state control its oil and depend on Dangote will never work. He is a private owner. I can never hold him responsible but for government, if they are wise, they will protect what they have.

Fuel is still cheap in Nigeria compare with other coutries in the world but my question is the quality of fuel in the two countries has more quality than each other.

Comparing the price of petrol in a country where the minimum wage per hour is between 12-15 pounds iwith Nigeria 's 70k minimum wage is highly illogical.

Your take home is what matters most. Many people confuse the minimum wage with take home. Whereas, the minimum wage is the BASIC salary.

Most of you in Nigeria cannot survive in the UK - you people that are used to free money. You close from work by 4/5pm and go drink or Bleep till 10pm before going home to sleep and continue the next day. You also bypass your metres and flex over the wknd in parties. The UK guys work two to three shifts daily, just to pay all their bills - two or three families share an apartment or 2-3 guys/ladies share a room and cannot even have £10 savings at monthend. I will rather have a salary of N1 million/per month in Nigeria than earn £2,000/month in the UK. Dont be deceived, the UK is a hell hole and most people are ashamed to relocate back home with nothing. No doubt, we have very corrupt leaders in all phases of govt but I will choose to live and stay in Nig for the rest of my life, purely for my mental and general well being.
