It was so very unusual but when I begged the land Landy to accept me as a huzler tenant that genuinely need a house when estate agents brought me to her to pay for her new house..

The house sh felt was way too expensive for my kind of job to maintain, sh clarifies that payment of the first lump sum isn't the problem but the continuous payment years later.. so I told her I am a Daly pay earner and if sh can open a dedicated bank account where I will b paying her 2800 daily and be posting her payment receipt the sh will notice it will add up at year end provided sh doesn't touch the rent...... Surprisingly, sh agreed and this is the 4th year going..

It was easy as I make about 8-10k daily from. My petty street huzle..

I pay her about 800k yearly for a room and palour self contained apartment

There was one time when I had to agree monthly payment with my Landlord some years ago and he agreed. BABA refused doing likewise the 2nd year grin

Now, I pay my rent in 2 or 3 installments cos I kanot coman goan kee masef cos of Lagos rent!!!

I think monthly payments for rent should be the norm. In the early 80s and 90s it used to be monthly I don't know how greed eventually took over and we started the annual payments for house rent

Monthly payment will be the worst. For a yearly rent, you might be down for several months and get your rent just a month or two before it expires.

Upfront rental payments of one year or multiple years put too much financial strain on potential tenants, even though in Lagos it capped at maximum 6 months but the forces of demand and supply make it not implementable. Some potential tenants may be offering upfront payments of upto 4 years for high in demand accommodations.

You're making 3m+ in a year, you'll should be able to pay 800k comfortably.

If you find it hard to save that on your own, you have no business with 800k apartments.

My for landlord took monthly for 2 of us after expiration of first year rent.he preferred it that way each of us was paying 15 k monthly.me dey just pay 2 months,and it was comfy with me.

Your landlord is diabolical yet u stay pit in his house and later slander him.If that nuisance leave,somebody responsible will rent it.
