These European leaders know what they are doing, an armada of warships in the Middle East sent by a lot of European nations will send a wrong message. Also, NATO was built on mutual respect, and was not built to help aggressor nations, NATO was not carried along in this war, and you dont expect them to come to your aid especially when you talk to leaders of allied nations like your students. So those leaders even if they will help they will allow you to be disgraced before coming to help.
