Former presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi has expressed uncertainty about securing the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a video message to his followers, Obi said that getting the presidential ticket of the ADC is not certain.

He said: “Someone asked me how I know for sure that the ADC will give me the presidential ticket. I cannot be certain. What matters is that we are committed to a cause.

“I keep wondering how we ended up in this situation and what might happen if we decide to stop working on this project.”

Obi also said he is still committed to his goals, and he hasn’t let any reported threats stop him.

The former Labour Party presidential candidate praised his supporters for their resilience, recognizing the difficulties of working within opposition politics in Nigeria.

Obi thanked everyone who stayed loyal even though they didn’t get much benefit right away.

“I thank you for your sacrifice. It’s not easy to be in the opposition in Nigeria, and I’m thankful to those who keep supporting even when there’s no clear reward,” he said.

He, however, expressed uncertainty about the future, especially concerning political alliances and commitments.

“How can we be certain that the people we’re working with right now won’t leave us behind tomorrow? I wish we could be sure, but we can’t,” he said.

Seems you underestimate how unprincipled and shameless Obi is. He has been reported to be negotiating with the NDC Party.

Obi fled the PDP, where it was the bonafide turn of the Igbos to produce the Party's Presidential candidate, because he could not face the Mullahs from up North as Wike bravely did.

Why will he not flee ADC that Igbos have no stake in since Atiku and his fellow Northern supremacists have funded the Party and made clear it is their platform to use wrestling power from a Southerner in breach of the rotation agreement?

Obi is just sad. The irony of the matter is that he could have been a good and well-regarded ally to PBAT but traditional hatred of Yorubas made him put all his eggs in the Fulani basket whereas the particular Fulanis he is courting are ruthless supremacists and hegemonists who merely view Obi a nuisance to be tolerated in their quest for power.

Look at how El Rufai who demeaned Obi as a "Nollywood actor" before 2023 yet is holding Obi's hand up and down because they all want Tinubu out

That is the treachery the unwise Obi went and joined, because of nothing other than hatred of Yorubas, same as he lined up behind the brutal dictator Abacha.

Before nko? Nothing better or more important in life than doing the right things when it matters to then enjoy the rewards. Obi never believed in standing his groubd to fight like a man when he must.

This is where that has gotten him. Someone who owns nothing, built nothing/nobody to now be reduced to a character whose fortune and fate is in the hands of others.

We all saw how he was last to join ADC, because of a cowardly nature of always sitting on the fence, whereas Atiku, Tambuwal, Malami etal had moved from day one to show the world ADC is a Party of desperate and dishonourable Fulani supremacists.

We were all witnesses to Obi shallowly announcing his job is to fix Nigeria and not labour Party whereas a real leader would not have avoided the responsibility of solving the problems of a Party he is Presidential candidate of.

Make your bed and lay in it. Mr.Shortcuts Obi has come to a dead end.

Obvious the ADC is the platform of Atiku and his Fulani supremacists and born-to-rule hegemonists who have nothing or offer Nigeria and are simply desperate to take power away from a Southern President too independent-mibded for their liking.

What profit did Obi believe he stood to gain aligning himself with those sort? Tinubu will teach them all a lesson and many will see their political dreaam/career die permanently overnight in 2027 to include Atiku, Peter Obi, El Rufai, Malami, Tambuwal etal.

Tinubu is a President who has fully and competently consolidated power (32 Governors and counting) and we shall see what battle th ADC opposition feels they can take to Jagaban in January 2027.

Precisely. This state of affairs is also an indictment of Obi's cowardly "food is ready" approach to political leadership.

I.e Obi cynically waits ,while others toil, to profit and eat the largest portion after the beast has been slayed.

Obi was watching and hedging his bets, consistently insisting "I have not left labour Party", while Atiku, Tambuwal and even Malami, a newbie politician, made their play early and planted their flag at the summit of the ADC mountain.

Can Obidients ever accuse PBAT of waiting on others rather than moving bravely from day one to define/lead processes and success as he showed with ACN and APC?

This, along with many other reasons, is why I laugh at the comparison of Obi with Jagaban.
