Hello guys,

I’ve worked in several organizations over the years, and due to personal reasons, I’ve made up my mind not to work under anyone again.

Right now, I’m planning to start a small business here in Ondo. I currently have about ₦400,000 as startup capital, and shop rent here goes for around ₦120k or even less, so I believe I can manage something reasonable.

At this stage of my life (in my 30s), I’m not looking for trial-and-error business or anything risky. I want something stable, profitable, and with low regret in the long run.

Please, I need honest advice from experienced people here:

👉 What kind of business can I start with this amount that can grow steadily?
👉 What should I avoid so I don’t lose my capital?
👉 Any real-life experience or guidance will be highly appreciated.

Rule number one don't start with having a shop until you achieve your first 1 to 5 million Naira. Look for businesses that do not need spending to make money, start by being a middle man for instance in real estate, focus on landing big opportunities. Register a company, open bank account and get family and friends to own 10 to 20% to raise between 500k to 1 million naira. Then look into buying cheap products and selling it at x3 x4. Use your home as office until you grow big enough
