Yes , it’s supposed to mean something .

If they claim the barbaric act is a festival which they observe in the town , the fact that a government institution is situated there should’ve made them put a stop to it a long time ago .

At least down here in the southwest I’ve heard of communities that phased out some traditional rituals because of the presence of government owned institution which actually brings development to such town .

It just takes the school’s SUG to make noise enough to get state government’s attention and the commissioner of local government & chieftancy matters will sack the town’s traditional ruler . Students really get power o .
I am seeing tweets of people who attended school, saying they have never heard of such festival

Omo ! No be small thing .

Imagine any of those boys running around trying to r.ap.e the ladies growing up to join politics and become a lawmaker . Such person will always vote against any anti-r.ap.e bill in parliament
Not just anti-grape bill. Think of the level of depravity and blatant disregard for social mores and the rule of law a man has to have to participate in such an activity.

Odds are it was never this bad, or if it was, it was before escalating matters to SM became a thing. This whole thing would have likely started from one or two idiots and before you know all the guys around got in on the act.

My point is it's not something that's exclusive to particular towns or environments. Groping happens in markets, clubs, shows and inside universities.

In the link below you'd see an ex-CU student talking about groping that happened within the university, simply because lights went out.

You are missing the point here . Have you checked the post on FP about this so called festival ?

Girls and women were reportedly raped, molested, and assaulted by youths in Ozoro Kingdom, the headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area in Delta State, SaharaReporters has learned.

The incident, which has sparked widespread condemnation, occurred on Thursday during the kingdom’s festival.

Traditionally, girls and women are expected to remain indoors during certain hours of the celebration.

Normally, the kingdom’s leadership issues approvals, notifications, and sensitization ahead of the festival, but no such guidance was given this year, contributing to the alleged attacks.

A youth who helped rescue some of the victims expressed outrage, calling on the Delta State government, the Isoko North council chairman, Ozoro kingdom leaders, and security agencies to hold the perpetrators accountable.
This gives a vibe that the incident is peculiar to this particular town called Ozoro. It’s more like their own traditional festival as barbaric as it is.

It’s a culture that has no place in modern society . That we have groping happening at Covenant university does not mean a town should have a festival that allows women to be r.apped for coming out during a festival .

As in..:…. Imagine someone growing with such mentality .

Na people like that Dey quick enter Sanko for sexual harassment when they travel abroad .

I recently read about a young promising Nigerian footballer that was locked up in one of those Scandinavian countries ( I’m not sure if it was Norway , Denmark or Sweden ) .

After hustling years in Nigeria and even played one of those age grade competitions for the Nigeria before he finally got the international transfer only for him to end his career for a sexual offence

Make I cause small chaos.

If rap finesse is being defined as ease/effortlessness, suavity, swag, smoothness of flow, then the Nigerian rapoer with the most finesse is not even a rapper but an R & B artiste. Yeah. you heard me right.

That Person is Bankole Wellington aka Bank W.

It was his feature in DJ Jimmy Jatt's E to beh that also had Phyno.

Take a listen. especially, his second verse from the 3.00 minute mark.

Banky's verses were very braggadocios But no Nigerian rapper has ever been able to surpass the finesse - smooth flow, suavity, poshness that Banky exhibited in that song.
Quoting Ross don't make you a boss, trust me.... Mehn, thanks for refreshing my memory. Use to put this jam on repeat back in the year it dropped. Superb jam and Banky killed it effortlessly.

It’s always interesting to see how some people strongly support a country in everything it does, and at the same time condemn any country that stands against it.
There’s nothing wrong with having loyalty or strong opinions, but at least it should be consistent.

Normally, people with the same mindset move towards places that match their beliefs. If you truly like how a country operates, its system, and its way of life, as we have NRGC here, then it should be a place you can live comfortably in. Support shouldn’t just be by mouth, it should reflect in what you are willing to accept for yourself.

But this is where the irony comes in. Many of those who loudly support Iran , and the way of life, cannot actually live there, even their citizens are leaving the country in hundreds and thousands .
Just ask a simple question: if that same country you defend so much, offers you and your whole family a visa to come and live there, will you go?

Now the Usa they always criticize. If they offer you even a single visa, you will do everything possible to go, and not just you, you will try your best to bring your whole family along.
That’s where the contradiction shows clearly. It’s easy to support something bad from a distance, but your real choice shows what you truly believe and where you feel you can actually live better.
In the end, your actions should match your words. If they don’t, then it’s just pure hypocrisy.

No, the festival doesn't advocate for rape and groping. As with most festivals where women are told to stay inside within certain hours, the punishment for being found outside is normally flogging, instead of the flogging that normally gets done, some persons now chose to go against the norm and grope/r.ape the women instead.

There's still no Nigeria song which will have you standing in front of a mirror using your right hand finger tips to dust off imaginary dust from your left shoulder blade while yelling "hey!", "hey!" like Naeto C's catalogue.

"Ako Mi Ti Poju", for example.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwPXV8V5pcs?si=vRIfTBBEk3EBw9SI

Like :

Ako Ako Ako Ako mi ti poju (hey!)
Ako mi ti poju (hey!)
Ako mi ti poju (yes, boss!)
Ako mi ti poju (serious music!).

Naeto was phenomenal.
