Nigeria's Security Is Not One Man's Responsibility; All Of Us Are In It – Tinubu by Omooba77(op): 4:28pm On Mar 20
Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, has called on citizens to sustain the values of discipline, compassion and unity cultivated during Ramadan, warning that national peace and security cannot be left in the hands of the government alone.

Speaking after the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the Dodan Barracks Eid Ground in Lagos, marking the end of Ramadan, Tinubu stressed that Nigerians must continue the virtues of charity, love and good neighbourliness beyond the holy month.

We thank Almighty God for guiding us through Ramadan. But the lessons and sacrifices must not end with the month. The spirit of giving, peace and love for one another must continue,” he said.

The president emphasised that security remains a shared responsibility, urging citizens to be vigilant and volunteer useful information to authorities.

The stability and security of this nation is not the responsibility of one man alone. We are all involved. We must be ready to provide information — sensitive information — about suspicious movements and activities across the country,” Tinubu stated.

He also urged Nigerians to obey the laws of the land and embrace peaceful coexistence across religious and ethnic lines, describing Nigeria as a model of diversity that must be preserved.

According to him, despite differences in religious practices, both Muslims and Christians worship the same God and must therefore live in harmony.

“Our diversity is our strength. We must accept one another as brothers and sisters. Whether through Islam or Christianity, we all serve one God. Let us reflect this in how we treat one another,” he added.

Tinubu further called for prayers for national peace and stability, urging citizens to contribute positively to society and support one another, especially the vulnerable.

Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a month observed by Muslims worldwide through fasting, prayer and acts of charity.

Hypocritus
Did you say this when Jonathan was in power?
I don't see any difference between Tinubu, FFK and Reno
Their words can't be taken seriously
They say one thing today and another tomorrow
Maybe that's why Tinubu made those two jesters his ambassadors

Has any president ever called his ascension to the Nigerian presidency based on emilokan? Has any previous Nigerian president ever lambasted his predecessor on insecurity as this man ever did? Meanwhile after using insecurity to get there, you want to deflate responsibility? No way.

You told Goodluck Jonathan the buck stops with him and urged him to resign over insecurity.

Now that you’re in charge, perhaps it’s time you take your own advice

If you observe even his regular zombified asslickers here too are ashamed to even enter or defend him on the thread. The man is the most wicked bloody hypocrite ever seen in the Nigerian politics.

The only reason Tinubu is desperate about State police is so he can hands-off and tell Nigerians to hold their governors accountable. He's a master of passing the buck while the heist continues.

Politics for Nigeria na tough dirty game.
If you no get liver no reach. Jonathan na gentle man from onset.
Na obasanjo wan expose the man for politics.
Don't mind those blaming him. Jonathan is at his best. Till today some of them want him to contest, which is dangerous if he is not ready to get dirty.
Don't forget that some of his loot was trade for allowing Buhari to rule. Which I think tinubu do more of interfering. But Buhari nearly change hand when power reach his hand by blocking Patience Jonathan account.
I think.that is the reason between him and tinubu closeness.

Why are the security forces always on the defensive side? Why can't they attack those bandits?
Politics has a way of messing up people's mentality.

Thinking about Nigeria mostly ends with sadness, the leaders makes fixing things look like impossible yet they don't want to leave the position. I blame the masses because we keep hailing the leaders like they are doing well. Till the massas start refusing bad governance with all their strength, this country will keep crawling.
Re: Nigeria's Security Is Not One Man's Responsibility; All Of Us Are In It – Tinubu by nairalanda1(m):
SeeWahala and Truthera and SirTee15 all agree with Tinubu, after all they backed him on subsidy in 2011/12.

As for me, this government keeps on keeping us on one resource called oil , won't take hard decisoons to make us an industrial productive economy, so that every state produces its own industrial goods and services, which would bring prosperity and make things like restructuring easier...which would fix the security problem.

Also, some religions need to do some introspection, especially one religion (won't mention names here).

Nope, let's do renewed hope

Ah well. cheesy
