Army Kills ISWAP Commander, Abou Ameer, During Failed Attack In Adamawa by Pakute(op): 7:12pm On Mar 20

Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly killed Abou Ameer, a top ISWAP commander, during a failed attempt by the terrorist group to infiltrate a military formation in Madagali LGA of Adamawa state.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, quoted security sources as saying that Ameer led the insurgents in the operation.

He was only recently appointed as the Ameer (Qaid) of Pulka following the neutralisation of his predecessor, Modu Kunduli, at Mayanti village in Bama LGA of Borno state.

“The terrorists came under heavy fire from the well-coordinated troops and were repelled, resulting in significant casualties on their side,” the report reads.

“The sources added that several senior ISWAP commanders, including Abu Ali Jango, Jundulla, and Saleh Madagali, sustained gunshot injuries during the encounter.

“Troops recovered intelligence materials and weapons from the scene, underscoring the continued pressure on insurgent networks in the North East.”

This comes a few days after army troops, in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), reportedly killed no fewer than 61 ISWAP fighters during a foiled infiltration attempt in Malam Fatori, Abadam LGA of Borno state.

Any of these terrorists killed should be processed into manure for farmers or sent to a university laboratory as cadaver for Anatomy practicals.

We shouldn't just commit them to vultures after all their atrocities

More power to the elbows of our gallant troops. I know many Nigerians don't think much of them, but those guys are really trying; if not for them, those terrorists would have taken over Aso Rock by now. It was when I watched a documentary about some of the efforts, risks, and sacrifices they make in fighting Boko Haram that I started appreciating them a little bit more. An average Nigerian soldier with the correct tools and is not being sabotaged, can hold his ground against any other military man on this continent.

They do not deserve the honor of using them as cadavers to teach students. They should be fed to wild animals in the zoo; that would be more fitting, I guess.

Great development but Nigeria should be focusing on getting to the source rather than killing a head of ISWAP, Boko Haram or whatever. They will just choose another leader and the cycle continues. This isn't a victory, Victory comes when the funding stops completely.
