According to an eye witness to this police brutality. The young man below was shot in the chest at 10:52 this morning around Ilupeju Byepass in Ilupeju by policemen from the Ilupeju Police Station who were chasing him and trying to seize his Okada. The Okada guy was trying to escape arrest when one of the policemen chasing him shot him in the chest. After the shooting, the policemen entered their van and sped off. Passersby then rushed the young man to Teju Hospital which is just adjacent to the where the incident happened. As of the time of filing this report it is unclear the state of the man's health. . . . . It has been confirmed that the rider is dead. What a Sad news.

Probably because most Nigerians lack the basic first aid technique in handling gun shot wounds, Secondly, if you take him to the hospital you would have to get a police report meaning you might be detained by the police. You would also need to deposit some money at the hospital before proper medical attention will be given to the victim. the police might cook up a story to suit them thereby tagging you as an accomplice to armed robbery... the list is endless.. my broda 6 Likes |

Little wonder there was riot at Ilupeju by-pass by okada ppl around 2pm. They were burning tyres in the middle of the road down to coker junction. |
