For the terrorists Trump and Satanyahu supporters, you can buy your own fuel for 200 naira.

I thought Dangote largely sourced his crude from Nigeria? Has the Nigerian government increased the price of its crude to dangote?
Crude oil are sold at international prices regardless where they are produced. The government can only decide to have an arrangement with local refineries to sell at a subsidized rate. But the challenge is we have corrupt people who will illegally supply these subsidized fuel to other nations.
Re: Again, Dangote Refinery Increases Petrol Price by yesloaded: 6:46am On Mar 21
What's the government doing with the excess revenue they are making from crude oil?

Why can't they use the excess revenue from crude oil sales to subsidize the price in Nigeria?

A challenge because government officials will be involved in the corruption

I wouldn't not blame Dangote. Assuming Nigeria is a serious country, we won't depend on one man to provide oil for us. It's just a shame that we can't have one functioning refinery in this country

Well it should make a difference now. Is it not possible to sell to him at a lower rate in the national interest or is that too hard too? Other nations are finding ways to help their citizens through the energy crisis or are Nigerians doomed to perpetually suffer a lack of inspirational leadership?
Good idea..

But petrol is sold to dagite at cheaper rate for the benefits of the masses, petroleum marketers will smuggle the cheaper product into neighbouring countries and sell at international rate to make more profits.

You will be shocked to discover that queue has suddenly resumed in various fuel stations across the country.

Those in the petroleum sector are very heartless, wicked and greedy. That is why subsidy had to go in the first place.

It won't even work because Nigeria is not the only place dangote just to source for crude 🛢️ and we are not the only country he sells refined crude to.

He can even purchase our oil at cheaper rate and sell same to other countries to make more gains .

He paid the equivalent of dollar price on the international market in naira. It is not as if he is getting it at a subsidized rate

you do realize that there's a war in the Middle East and that price of crude oil is over 100 dollars right now? Even if you had more refineries it wouldn't make any difference
my friend will you shut up, how has the war in the middle east affected the price of fuel in other oil producing countries, only Nigeria due to high level corruption. Why not call a spade a spade and stop defending incompetency.

Why should the government be held for what it doesn't control? Dangote is a private business. Crude price is not determined by government. What are you on about? The whole world is affected by the ongoing crude crises, are you living in a hole?
Crude prices globally are not determined by government, government should equally not determine how and whom he sells her products to ? Is there any implication if the government sells below the benchmark to her citizens ? You guys should stop defending nonsense.

Government can sell to her citizens as the deem fit for he benefit of here citizens with regards to the fact that the war isn't happening here. Then profit from the war happening miles away by selling to the international community at price determined by global events

Stop this narrative. Smugglers can be evaded by Dangote groups doing the delivery it does nationwide except if they are as corrupt as the politicians.

Sell crude to dangote as cheap as possible, he in turn refines and do the nationwide delivery at affordable prices. This process won't be attainable if Dangote is equally corrupt and greedy like normal Nigerian whom would want to milk fellow citizens from an opportunity
Re: Again, Dangote Refinery Increases Petrol Price by Inspirer1: 7:30am On Mar 21
One chance....the sensible thing to do is FG to supply him crude at a rate that'll make him reduce the proce for local use

Yes you are right ..but as it stands now commercial buses uses fuel to transport people and especially commodities- consumer goods and the recent hike in fuel prices will definitely result in a multiplier effect on consumer goods and capital goods prices .

The real negative effect is on fixed income earners....salary earners.

Wicked monopolist! This is why he fought NNPC and marketers to stand still. Tax payers money built that refinery (USD 25 Bill was given to him under Buhari), crude is sold in Naira to him by NNPC, yet Nigerians can't breath...see how much he sells cement that is locally produced u would understand the level of greed just to answer richest man in Africa.

Even without Dangote, we will still be in this mess, because refineries are not functioning, infact Nigeria would have being in a terrible fuel scarcity by now without Dangote.

Nigeria sells OPEC prices which is high.

Okay. But I recalled there was agreement with the Tinubu’s govt to sell crude to Dangote in Naira. It's understandable if he buys more crude from the US.
But still, is the Nigerian crude not sufficient to meet Dangote's demand?
Where is the remaining crude from Nigeria taking to?
There are a lot of questions to ask in the Nigerian oil sector.
.

The global increase in crude oil price has made the greed of the govt increase too, the little their selling to him under that arrangement has been withdrawn and now being sold in $ at the current global price.
OPEC has also increased Nigeria's quota to the international market meaning Nigeria has increased the quantity being supplied daily to the international market meaning more money for the country and more misery for the masses.
Lastly, the borrowed loans by successive administrations are still being paid and will still be paid with the same crude oil at the price of crude oil when the money was borrowed. Creditors you've agreed to supply 20m barrel per time when crude was around $40-60 will still get the same quantity now at the then rate of $40-60.
Though we have crude oil but we don't have!

cheesy

The problem is marketers would then take that fuel and smuggle it across the border.

Also, lots of ordinary Nigerians would do the same thing too. (Most smugglers are small lads carrying 50l jerrycans across the border.)

Also, remember that any crude sold within and outside nigeria, part of it goes to funding government revenues. A subsidy of that kind would make it difficult for government to fund revenues, which would lead to a large deficit, which means.....MORE LOANS.

Dangote is not your new NNPC, cos Dangote run his private Refinery his primary responsibility is to his Business
Dangote spends his money to run the business

Nnpc spends Nigeria money to run its operation

They sell to him in foreign currency which fluctuates on the international market but he buys a larger volume of crude from US after which he would always adjust his price of byproducts
We sell to him in the Naira equivalent of the prevailing market price of crude oil. We don't sell to him in foreign currency.
