We are Nigerians. Before camera phones any interaction between a Nigerian and any security agency is their word against yours and from oga at the top to boy boy at the bottom they will all deny. Now with video evidence they are forced to make a show of dealing with their bad eggs

As the principal/proprietor I can also claim the student in question was an unruly and disruptive student and get former teachers to testify same.

Community denying because they want to avoid consequences

Baba leave story , there’s a reason why people go to school for 5 years to study law and still proceed to do another 1 year in law school to pass the bar . All this one you are doing is using your layman’s street sense to argue that assault/battery cannot be proven once there’s no video evidence , you are not putting into consideration stuffs life “Cross examination “ which involves you getting grilled by a trained barrister to provoke you to spill your guts in a lawsuit.

Just lookup on google cases that predated 2010’s that borders on Assault/battery even those ones involving Nigeria police , u will see cases won by the plaintiff despite having no video or audio recording of the incident .


As regards this Oluwafi Ojo matter vs Valencia college proprietor , the proprietor’s lawyer has already confirmed the incident happened . He only tried to twist how it happened . That alone sef showed they will either settle out of court pr will lose the case if the guy press ahead with the case .

By the time the guy has other ex-students come out to reveal how they were treated like criminals by the proprietor and his team of teachers , the judge will have no choice but to view them as violent individuals abusing students in their care .

The proprietor is saying because the guy’s parents who are lawyers settled with him back then over the incident , then it shouldn’t be an issue now and the guy shouldn’t be suing him. 🤡

You sound pretty biased against the principal side of the story which honestly makes more sense here. You are already siding with the student without any solid evidence to support it. Also if the punishment was really as harsh as being claimed, the family would not have sent another child to the same school, at least I know I wouldnt.

Well , there has been cases won against the military in the past bordering on assault/battery .

I remember one lady winning against the navy when one senior naval staff had his convoy batter her on the road in Lagos . Galaxy TV carried the news back then .

People do actually win those cases with average lawyers

Yea , I won’t deny being biased against the principal/proprietor because I’ve seen what some of those educators can do when they feel a student calling them derogatory words lie mumu should attract the worst of corporal punishment .

The average Nigerian is proud and won’t tolerate someone beneath him calling him derogatory words and not getting battered for it .

The man’s version of the story is clearly trying to de-escalate the situation and make it seem like the punishment the boy got was a typical normal punishment one gets for running foul of school’s rules and regulations . But one can see the man’s ego was bruised by the boy’s choice of words and had him get extraordinary punishment that had him traumatized for years .

Recently I’ve been seeing a trend on TikTok from ex-students calling out some of their former teachers for the kind of inhuman treatment meted out to them . You would be surprised how brutal some of those educators were . Maybe it was due to frustration with the Nigerian society sef , who knows

Our class teacher was eating an apple 🍏 and was telling his friend who is the class teacher of the classroom next door about how he cannot eat an apple without first peeling off the green skin .

That was how I told a friend of mine that our teacher is a “bush man “ for peeling the green skin and spitting it out before eating the apple . That was because as little as I was my old brings home apple and we eat both the red and green one with the skin . Na so one girl wey overheard our conversation say “ I will tell uncle “ and I said she should go ahead . ( I didn’t really fancy begging someone trying to threaten to report me )

She did and anyways and the man called me out to confirm if indeed I said what I was accused of . I admitted and the man had me flogged 6 strokes of the cane while muttering under his breath “ It is your father that is a bushman “ 😂.

I collect the flogging in good faith because I knew I messed up and got punishment commensurate with 4ck up .

Now imagine if the man had gone overboard to treat my 4ck up to the extent that I sustained injuries from the punishment ……shey I no go wan get back at him in the future ?

I believe the principal/proprietor went overboard enough to make the guy want to get his asss 10 years after .

this has brought me back memories

When I was in jss2 in my junior seminary days, one of the student teachers(the ones who finished and was retained in the school for apostolic work) .
One day in my hostel, we were making noise during siesta, in a hot afternoon, didn't know this guy was looking us through the window, after he saw us, he came inside our domitory, and asked the people who were making noise to come out, some people who were making noise came out, me I didn't come out, he counted to 10 giving the opportunity for everyone making noise to come out, I didn't, after he finished counting, he told those ones who came out to go inside, he called me out.. my heart was pounding.

This guy used broom 🧹,to design my whole body.. he was flogging me measilesly and was altering altering words like he wants to remove evil spirit from me, he flogged me that my body was filled with broom 🧹 mark.
I don't think I can forget that incident until I die..

Although I haven't met him after our days in junior seminary, but if I should meet him today, I don't know how I'll react honestly but I'm 💯 sure I won't smile to him or greet him. There's a 60% chance if things goes south might lead to altercation and escalation.

There is also this guy who is my classmate that is always bullying other if our not so built classmates..

I hate this guy even after our school days and up till now, during any of our get to get her meeting or when we happen to come across each other, I don't always feel comfortable around him.. sometimes, I do tell my classmates that when they re coming to visit me, let them not carry him along to my house..

There are things that people will do to you that will leave a scar to you and you'd be wanting revenge or you will seek revenge at any slightest opportunity.

Just like some police men who have in one or 2 occasions manhandled me, If I happen to see them in a tight corner, I'll 💯 exact my revenge... But again wishes aren't horses and I might end up not seeing them in my lifetime

But the victim himself has decided to reopen the matter because he claims he is traumatized about the whole incident . I support his decision to test the case in court no matter how long it will take , he has absolutely nothing to lose whatever side the judgement tilts in this matter .

The truth is some of the things teachers/school administrators make students go through which they call “discipline” is actually abuse . And there are already established cases which see excessive flogging as assault .
