I have been reading from some of the Obidients/Ipob claiming president Tinubu might release Kanu before the 2027 election in order to gain some sympathy votes from South East.

That's actually a wrong perception, even if Kanu instructed his followers to vote for president Tinubu, they can never. Their hatred is deep which we have no issue with hence not counting South East from where to expect votes from in 2027

Summary, President Tinubu don't need Kanu for his reelection

I was thinking precisely the same thing. We are talking of the reputation and image of the biggest black nation in the world with very important and influential figures like Dangote and literally thousands of other.

Kanu is nothing but a convicted criminal who is a messiah to one ethnic group in our nation.

He is not even relevant or a topic of discussion. In so far as Ekpa is in prison, Kanu is going nowhere because the victim (Nigeria) showing the head of the Snake (Kanu) leniency while the bystander (Finland) is insistent the body of the Snake (Ekpa) cannot leave jail till he finishes his sentence ridicules Nigeria beyond repair.

Tinubu does not need Kanu and would not.contemplate releasing him under any condition and for any purpose until he serves a good deal of his sentence which is likely to be 10 years or so. The Biafrans can make noise all they want.
